Operation not permitted / installing MER !!
 
Hello,,,

I'm trying to install MER / Ubuntu on my SD card

but each time I reach this step:

I get a result as Operation Not Permitted ... ??? !!!

Why I'm having this problem?? :confused::confused:

Sorry for a (maybe) silly question,but have you changed "/full/path/to/" to your actual path to the file?

Well, I just spent about a day trying to run MER, but without success ... Using the howto (http://mer-project.blogspot.com/2010...okia-n900.html), I tried both install on PC and on N900 (using gnu tar - gtar) ... I followed the steps exactly I was told in the howto but after reboot, when I select to boot Mer, nothing happens - it sais "booting mer" and thats it, it turns off after a while ... I did it many times and always ended here ... Help pls! :)

I solved my problem,, by logging in as "root" user
