Help! Cannot boot N900 (Strange Problem)
Greetings,
I cannot boot my n900. After I press the power button, it always boots with nokia logo and blue led, then turns off .. And everytime I try to charge it, it always vibrates and yellow led turns on for a longer time than usual charge and with the nokia logo without the back light on it.. Someone had exactly same problem I read in post (Reference : http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=71276 ) I learnt from that post that flashing would solve the problem. However, when I tried to flash I cannot go in flash mode. I have flashed before it worked perfectly fine back then. When I insert USB cable I see dim light BUT NO USB SIGN ON THE TOP RIGHT CORNER OF THE SCREEN. Please help. |
Re: Help! Cannot boot N900 (Strange Problem)
If anyhow I get into flash mode .. I believe everything would be fine.
Thanks in advance P.S I have charged and still charging my phone through wall charger. |

Oh! almost forgot
I currently have Maemo and nitdroid and this problem occurred when I was trying to boot Nitdroid. It never happened before. And also I have overclocked the processor. |
Re: Help! Cannot boot N900 (Strange Problem)

Thanks for your reply. I really appreciate it. Well, yes I am following exact instructions what is given in that wiki page. When I plug in USB cable already holding "u" key ... a dim light appears with the Nokia logo in the middle of the screen...but the only thing which i cannot see is the usb icon on the top right of the screen. I am very much sure that my phone is not dead yet [I really hope it isn't :( ] I would like to hear more from you. |

Re: Help! Cannot boot N900 (Strange Problem)
First in a good n900 back up your rootfs, open the XT:
root dd if = / dev/mtd5 of = output files (for example/home/user/MyDocs/rootfs.img) Then put the backup good rootfs mirror brush to bad machine, : Flasher-3.5-r rootfs.img -f If you don't succeed, then brush again 36 weeks global version of the rootfs. Bin flasher-3.5.exe -F D:\syssoft\N900-36.bin -f -R |
