SONY, Dell, HP, Blackberry and Nokia are out.
Apple and Samsung, they're not gonna do it.
LG might experiment with it, but I doubt it.
Motorola wouldn't do it, Google might.
HTC seems likely though.
Jolla, distant future?

hardware need drivers, good luck with the manufactures giving you that. Neat idea though.

Funny how Bug Labs has been building modular devices for a while - it's how they got into the business with companies like Ford. They've built modular boards that connect together and have specific functions and can be built upon.

Same for Xi3 - modular motherboard with interchangeable parts. No different than modern day daughterboards for modern PC's. Nothing idiotic - the drivers are already there, you just need a fully functioning OS and interface to handle options as such.

There's plenty more examples. But I'm sure they'll be shot down. Oh, Bug Labs is open source, btw.
