Re: Motorola's Project Ara
SONY, Dell, HP, Blackberry and Nokia are out.
Apple and Samsung, they're not gonna do it. LG might experiment with it, but I doubt it. Motorola wouldn't do it, Google might. HTC seems likely though. Jolla, distant future? |
Re: Motorola's Project Ara
This idea is idiotic. Only a non-technical troll cretin would think it is possible. i.e. anyone on engadget.

Re: Motorola's Project Ara
hardware need drivers, good luck with the manufactures giving you that. Neat idea though.

Re: Motorola's Project Ara
Funny how Bug Labs has been building modular devices for a while - it's how they got into the business with companies like Ford. They've built modular boards that connect together and have specific functions and can be built upon.
Same for Xi3 - modular motherboard with interchangeable parts. No different than modern day daughterboards for modern PC's. Nothing idiotic - the drivers are already there, you just need a fully functioning OS and interface to handle options as such. There's plenty more examples. But I'm sure they'll be shot down. Oh, Bug Labs is open source, btw. |
