1x Casing
1x Half-size solderless breadboard
1x PCB
1x SMD components containing
- Resistors
- Capacitors
- LDO voltage regulator
- EEPROM
- I2C level-converter
- 2x5 header

PREPARATIONS
- download i2ctool from the store
- get a solder iron and some solder
- flux and solderwick also very nice to have
- tweezers
- you'll also need pliers

CHECKING
Press the PCB in the casing
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/rv4q974jx2f...2015.49.29.jpg
Turn on Vdd using i2ctool and measure like this
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/14kjjqdvqfh...2015.50.52.jpg
The connections per hole are indicated on the casing (how incredibly practical!)
3V3 -> about 3.3V
SCL_1V8 -> anything above 1.5V
INT_1V8 -> anything above 1.5V
SDA_1V8 -> select 'probe' and then check, fluctuates a bit. if all others are good, this will also be fine.
GND -> short to usb port
Rest -> nothing

SOLDERING
Use as little solder as possible. The level-converter and eeprom have a round indicator on top, matching an indicator on the board, make sure they are the right way around! Remove access by applying a bit of flux and taking the solder off with some solderwick.
These guys make some nice instructional videos on soldering if this is new terrain for you.

Resistors, capacitors and voltage regulator

Next, use your plier to cut off about 1mm from all of the legs of the header, like this:
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/1fp7dnytkxw...2016.14.17.jpg
Then put the pcb in the casing (might need a bit of pushing/rework on some casings) and insert the header from above. The pins are allowed to extend up to 1mm from the board, but definitely not more! Then solder them!

Fiew, okay the hard part is over!

BREADBOARD
Cut off the extending pins, otherwise it will not fit. Squeeze it in the casing.

SOFTWARE
Open the terminal, type 'devel-su' followed by your pw. Next type 'harbour-i2ctool', the program is now opened in root.
Enable Vdd and go to TOH EEPROM. A long list of settings and a lot of FFFF's should be on your screen.

If not, something went wrong with your soldering. Check your board, clean it and adjust soldering with flux and solderwick untill it works.

Change settings to match this:

Re: Developer TOH

It will not be the prettiest TOH I've ever made, nor do I use photoshop.

Example for projects:

Boombox:
Two speakers
Two mono amps
Jack breakout
Volume control
Jack-jack audio cable
Total: 26$

6000mah booster package:
6Ah battery
Step up booster
Switch
Total: 35$

Re: BreadboardTOH

Bump...
It's an interesting idea. Though I use neither Jolla nor Breadboard.
Best wishes.

Re: BreadboardTOH

Finalized the PCB

https://dl.dropbox.com/s/l94rq889cl341yg/PCB.JPG

There will be two rows of headers like this:

1V8 - GND - DCin - GND - 3V3
SDA18 - SCL18 - INT - SCL33 - SDA33

Re: BreadboardTOH

Example project:

Random object music player
- 8 key capacitive sensor breakout
- 8 banana's
- all objects from boombox breakout

then you can make this!

What can IT do?

Re: BreadboardTOH

IT can be connected to your Jolla. And then YOU can do whatever inventions you want with IT.

I couldn't have said it better myself!
