Update SailfishOS directly from v1.0.0.5 to v2.0.5.6
Hello,
I reset my Jolla device. Now i have V1.0.0.5. Is there any method to update directly to v2.0.5.6? The Stop Releases are: 1.0.2.5, 1.1.2.16, 1.1.7.28, 1.1.9.30 and 2.0.0.10 After i update to 1.0.2.5 and 1.1.2.16 i have black screen at startup after jolla logo. Why i don't know? Thank you |

Because there are a lot of migrating operations in these mandatory updates.

Most importantly, do not attempt to set anything up, or even apply a backup from 2.x. A reset device is best upgraded to latest before doing anything with it. Just in case, enable developer-mode once you got it upgraded to 1.0.2.5. It was recognized to be smoother on upgrades when you reboot after each upgrade after it has settled the current upgrade, eg CPU usage is back to normal shows it has done everything. (some upgrades download faster than your device needs to settle in the current upgrade)

Do factory reset from Recovery and update your device step by step without release jumps

Maybe you need to balance the filesystem between updates;
1.) reset device 2.) update 3.) btrfs balance 4.) update 5.) btrfs balance 6.) update 7.) btrfs balance 8.) ... 9.) ... |
