Re: Irreco - Ir Remote Controller
I like this idea.
However, most routers do not have USB ports, in which case the router has to be opened (https://wwwn.dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Serial_port_pinouts#Buffalo_WHR-HP-G54) and wired...

Re: Nokia refuses to fix wakeup bug
What folks don't realize is that this problem would be duplicated in the successor of diablo, because retutime is still the underlying component that alarmd depends on, and alarmd is not going away.

Nokia refuses to fix wakeup bug
It looks like Nokia has tagged bug 5117 (https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=5117) as "WONTFIX". This is a low-level component that all applications depend on for waking up from a power off...

Confirm my bug please
If you run the following command on the Maemo CLI, it is supposed to power off, and wake up 3.5 minutes later (give or take .5 min):
let AMIN=$(/usr/sbin/chroot /mnt/initfs /usr/bin/retutime...

Re: OpenVPN upgrade
That's a different problem.. I don't autostart, so I didn't experience any hangs. I use the openvpn desktop tool to choose a vpn and start it.
One would think if you have a password that...

Re: OpenVPN upgrade
Be aware that this openvpn upgrade breaks if you have it configured to kick off scripts upon connection. Perhaps rightly so for security reasons.
The solution is to add "script-security 2" to...

Re: How to schedule scripts (using alarmd?)
Looking at the manpage, there is no way to hook an alarm event to an action:

That's pretty useful qwerty12. I had a huge number of events, many of which used the same cookie. I tried this command to clear them out gracefully:

Re: Maemo beeper
Go to http://www.epochconverter.com/ and get the epoch time that you want it to start at.
Then type:
apt-get install alarmtool && \
alarmtool -a -boot --recurr 1 --recurr-count 30 \

Re: How to schedule scripts (using alarmd?)
Since alarmd is broken, I will probably switch to cron.
The bummer is that I'll have to leave the device on all night, because cron can't boot the device, from what I hear.
Since alarmd is...
