Re: How to reinstall mp-fremantle-pr?

And make sure you have enough space. Did the APT cache location get moved to eMMC at some point? I know in PR1.0 and 1.1 it was on the 256MB partition, so would fill up if you tried to do a...

Re: How to reinstall mp-fremantle-pr?

As was stated previously, not having the mp-fremantle-pr package only matters to firmware update notifications in HAM. You can still apt-get dist-upgrade. Somehow on 1.0 I did something to lose the...

Re: [Announce] PSFreedom - an easy way to jailbreak your PS3

http://www.ps3news.com/PS3-Hacks/guide-how-to-compile-psfreedoms-payloads-with-ubuntu-10-10/

Since you already have the kernel module, you just have to compile the payloads. The annoying part is...

Re: Nokia take legal action against Eldar Murtazin

He's been hammering them hard for over a year, so I don't think it's really got anything to do with his unfavorable opinion regarding Nokia's recent efforts.

I think they'd probably let it go if...

Re: Looks like MeeGo will definitely have Flash Player 10.1

Well, if your particular android device will run the blessed version of android, then yes, android gets flash 10.

I'm hoping that with a successful backport of MeeGo to the N900, we might be able...

Re: Nokia take legal action against Eldar Murtazin

I don't so much have a problem with him managing to get his hands on prototype hardware. In fact, I think that's great. What's not so great is, as others have said, reviewing it as if it's final...

Re: Blind Test with Pictures quality

It's a fair evaluation of how the camera will perform for most people, since most people just let their camera (especially their cameraphone!) do whatever it wants.

Re: Blind Test with Pictures quality

I find the N900 does fine as long as the dynamic range isn't too terribly high. When there is too much overall brightness, it washes out some, and of course the highlights are completely blown on it....

Re: Blind Test with Pictures quality

Only one of them handles the scene well (F), and it has a very yellowish green compared to the rest.

So they all pretty much sucked with that particular scene, unless the yellowish green one is...

Re: Why I like the N900 despite its shortcomings

I think what you're not understanding is that you're making a value judgment. One that each of us make for ourselves based on our own needs. For me, the N900 did what it needed to do from day one....

Re: Why do many members in here dictate what's best for me?

I think it's more of a "HowardForums is that way ---->" response. You have to keep in mind that this forum isn't end user (or at least historically hasn't been) focused like HoFo is. A lot of us...

Being honest, I think you must be full of it, as I haven't had a lick of trouble with 1.2.

Re: PR1.2 is awesome! Who is with me?

Apparently there are some folks complaining about browser portrait mode in 1.2 who haven't actually used 1.2. How odd.

Re: Video Calls with Skype N900

I called a contact who has Skype 4.1 on Windows earlier today. The video call button was there, but the video didn't work. I'm having them download 4.2 and will try again.

As I've mentioned...

Re: After upgrade App Manager sort

Mine will be sorted alphabetically for a while and then as I'm scrolling down the list it will resort them randomly. It does it several times when going down the list with extras-devel enabled.

It disappeared for me, also. It came back after I disabled my skype account and reenabled it, as someone suggested near the beginning of the thread.

Re: North America update for pr 1.2

I didn't realize that the backups also store the names of all your installed programs. The restorer gives you the option of reinstalling all your old programs automatically, also. Now I'm not so...

Just showed up for me. Not that I have enough rootfs space to OTA update (unless I want to go through another manual dist-upgrade)

Re: By the time MeeGo is released, will you buy a new phone?

There's a darn good chance I'll get something newer in the next six months. Maybe an N8 to try out later in the year if there's no more details regarding whatever the MeeGo device will be. If the N8...

Re: PyQt: Python and Qt GUI - customized Dialogs - close Event handling - connection

Try WingIDE. It's not free, but it works very nicely. (I'm still working with the trial, but I think I'm probably going to buy it)

Re: PyQt: Python and Qt GUI - customized Dialogs - close Event handling - connection

Just connect the accepted() signal to a function in your class that does whatever work you need to do. It's pretty simple, as the dialog automatically closes. If you want to do some stuff in the...
