agreed, What I really liked about that atrix setup was that when connected to an external screen/keyboard. it ran a different UI, that was also capable of running a full web browser with flash...

Just saw this on engadget. The new motorola atrix 4g was announced at CES. It has the ability to dock with hdmi/usb and act like a pc.

Also the IR port on the n900 doesn't output a very strong signal. You'd have to be literally 4 feet in front of whatever you wanted to activate.

As far as I know, gates/garage openers use rolling code radio frequency. Something the N900 isnt capable of outputting. Not saying it couldn't be done with additional hardware added on the garage...

I think the question is why pick the Samsung 3d blu ray player over buying a Ps3, that has a lot more functionality. Especially for the things you are wanting to do.

why would there be a power drain? The N900 would be plugged into the charger, and the video out would be plugged into the screen. Does the N900 not use accelerated graphics for its TV Out...

I was just thinking it would be nice to have a larger screen/dock that I could put on my bedside when I'm charging the N900. So I have an idea, but just trying to verify if its likely possible...
