Re: Script for call log

That's clever. I had no idea it would be so easy to run a script from the app list, and fire up the browser. I will be using this. Thanks!

Re: Daylight saving time messed up my calendar

I hoped it would have adjusted it automatically like my other Linux devices. But because it didn't, I rebooted the device and the time was adjusted automatically during the reboot.

Daylight saving time messed up my calendar

After the daylight saving time adjustment last weekend, my calendar events now show up one hour late. I have dozens of pre-scheduled events during the spring and summer, and now I have to fix them...

Re: Is it possible to use N900 with a larger external Touchscreen? Possible idea

The idea is excellent! What I would like to see in the future is a big touch screen into which you can dock the N900. But this would be a great first step. I don't see why it could not be made to...

Re: Apple iPad

Yes, me wants an "N1900" with a big screen and all the goodies of N900 and Maemo. Give it a resolution of around 1366x768 and it will be a perfect couch computer and a travel tablet for maps etc.

Re: calendar shortcomings

Sure, I'll take a look at it later, when I get back from work.

Re: calendar shortcomings

It seems the calendar is able to display "complex" recurring schedules, but there are no editing tools for that. I would like to see them.

I was able to create a bi-weekly recurrence by using the...

Re: Dyndns & SSH

Same here. The script does not seem to get run (running with -l creates no log file).

Re: 10" tablet

That looks nice. I might even have to order one :)

I think this is the direction I would like to see Nokia take. Not sure about the need for a physical keyboard, though (perhaps some USB ports for...

Re: 10" tablet

Actually, I guess my point is that I would like to see a bigger Maemo device with tight integration between the phone-sized device (N900) and the bigger tablet. And why not even a SIM card slot - you...

Re: 10" tablet

Wow, I didn't even realize such a thing existed/is coming (?)

But yes, something like that, yet running Maemo on ARM hw.

10" tablet

What I would like to see from Nokia next is a bigger version of the tablet with some multi-core processing power and a big screen.

I love the browsing experience on N900 and I would like to have a...

Re: Bluetooth Connention via Headset

Hmmm, if I remember correctly, the device just vibrates and the sound is fed only to the headset. Don't have a second phone here right now to test it...

Re: More hardware buttons for the next model

No, I'm afraid I can't see any events for the shutter button nor the camera lid. So I guess those must be detected using HAL somehow...

Re: More hardware buttons for the next model

Thanks! It does seem there is no keypress/keyrelease X event for the camera shutter. At least I didn't see any using the fixed xev utility.

Re: More hardware buttons for the next model

Any idea how to check the keycodes on the tablet? There's no xev command by default.

Re: More hardware buttons for the next model

Thanks! This saved my day (today at least).

But I still think it would be nice to get the camera button rewired. It even has two stages, half-way and full press.

Maybe something like this:

-...

More hardware buttons for the next model

After having used the N900 for a few weeks now, I must say that I constantly miss one hardware button, and another one might also be useful. Here are my suggestions:

1) Dashboard/desktop button

I've been using the N900 that I received in the summit for a few weeks now as my primary and only phone (so let's not forget that I am talking about a preproduction device here). Everything mostly...
