Re: modRana on Android
When stationary, everything is displayed. Once you start moving, the position cursor disappears, and everything freezes, the display doesn't move, you cannot access the menu. The errors start popping...

Re: modRana on Android
Hmm, it seems "in the morning" translates to in a "month and a half"... :O(
Anyhow, I did capture it finally, and it definitely seems to be pango/cairo based, though no idea what it's about. Am...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note
And that's what I'm saying: there is nothing in the USB settings on the Note, just an option to connect mass storage, no "PC mode", no "none" like on the other phones.
That's why it doesn't bring...

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note
I don't see why. I've accessed the Motorola Droid 3 via USB perfectly, surely it must be possible on the Note.

Re: Samsung Galaxy Note
Hi:
I'm doing the same that you are, very happy with the Note, and running a Debian chroot on it.
Could you help me with step by step instructions on how you ssh into the Note, as it seems I'm...

Re: modRana on Android
OK, something fishy is definitely going on...
I did uncheck the 'redraw once new tile is loaded' option, and then: it seems modrana still gets stuck, in a funny way... The cursor position, and the...

Re: modRana on Android
The more I think about it, the more I think it's the continuous display updates, more than anything.

Re: directions_filter.csv
Yes, it is.
I ran gpsd with debugging, and when it reads data from a regular socket file, created by socat, it's updated fine...
This might speed things up for the chroot... However it thus...

Re: modRana on Android
OK, I ran more experiments.
It seems to me the bottleneck is modRana's interface to gpsd or gpsd itself.
Why?
I eliminated gpsd access to NMEA data via tcp, instead created a regular file...

Re: modRana on Android
OK, there is a problem with gpsd in chroot on Android.
Basically, doing what I outlined above, i.e. sharing the GPS data via BlueNMEA, modRana's position that it gets from gpsd is stuck on the...

Of course, I'll write a detailed guide, with details on setting up the chroot in debian also etc. in a couple of weeks, as I'll be on vacation, but these details are basically all one needs to know...

Update, re the requests:
The exit seems to be clean when killing modRana's window directly, thus the Exit button is not such a dire need.
However the non-working rotation is a problem...
