Re: metal detector Program
Problem is the metal detector apps use the phones built in Magnetometer(Digital Compass) to function. This is also a piece of hardware the N900 doesn't have.
Can't be done.

Re: Maemo + Moblin = MeeGo
Because MeeGo is based on Qt, allowing the apps to be easily back ported to Maemo 5 w/ Qt. Does that benifit the N900.....yes. Does it say it will run on the N900. No.

Re: Human firewall
I feel like it's a copypaste off reddit =D
But regardless, I'd consider it more like...just unplugging the net after the initial data gets through.

Re: Maemo (or maemo.org?) mascot proposal
Well, if platypus is a no go, I vote we replace the A part of AE with a armadillo lizard, they are somewhat orange and have a natural tendency to roll into the shape of the A, though someone cold be...

Re: Question for U.S T-Mobile users
I was able to do this with my blackberry probably 5 years ago. The first month I was fine, the month after I was stuck with a $200 data bill. I'd keep my eyes open if I were you.

Re: N900 vs Droid & Nexus One
Well..Probably Droid then N900. Wouldn't touch a nexus one. The Droid and N900 have better hardware and physical keyboards. Plus I had endless problems with the Nexus One that I had.

Re: Android is not open
I finally got around to flashing JAC's xROM 2.1 on my MyTouch while I wait for my N900 replacement and I hate how slow it is...but I miss 2.1 quite a bit after returning my Nexus. It would be nice to...

I don't see these forums as a good example of people, I actually feel pretty average around here. I always feel really smart hanging around xda and CrackBerry because it seems the standard user knows...

I agree it's definitely not on the same level as Maemo, but it's hardly a PITA especially the PITA it used to be, all of the platforms are relatively easy to gain root access on, I guess I just...

Re: Android is not open
Actually it's not at all, One Click Root still works on a majority of the HTC devices(MyTouch, G1), flashing the Droid is as simple as copying a update.zip to SD card and flashing. The Nexus One is...
