Re: [Development] kernel-power
It's pretty well-known that pulseaudio does the filtering for the builtin media application. But do you want to take the chance that you run some other program (mplayer?) and destroy them? I sure...

Re: [Development] kernel-power
So is there actually a real problem with Support-for-tlv320aic3x-codec-highpass-filter-needed.diff? If you guys would prefer to potentially blow up your speakers, so be it...

nat64d & T-Mobile updates
T-Mobile's new IPv6 APN has a different NAT64 subnet: fd01:353:dead:beef:face::/96
I've updated nat64d with this and built a replacement for myself. I'm posting it here in case anyone else needs it....

Patches on top of power49
I've been getting occasional "scheduling while atomic" bugs with power49, so I went hunting through the long list of commits made between 2.6.28 and 3.1, looking for a potential fix. I found numerous...

Re: Announce: Open Source Cold Flasher for RX51
Don't bother with flashing rootfs/eMMC. Just get it able to load and boot a kernel (using the clean-room reverese engineering I already suggested). From there, we can make minimal Linux builds that...

Re: Announce: Open Source Cold Flasher for RX51
Please provide non-code documentation on the entire procedure. Your own flasher is now tainted and can be argued to be copyright infringement. By documenting the process in English, someone else can...

Re: N810 2.6.33.2 binaries
I would, but I'm not sure I have it anymore... Pretty sure it should be the n810_defconfig (or n8x0_defconfig?) included with the sources... If you need help, maybe ping me on IRC?

Re: 100% Free software handheld
Highly unlikely. Discarded means discarded-- we have precedence with N8x0 and 770 on this. Releasing source requires legal review, which costs Nokia time/money.

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support
RedHat and Debian aren't a mere "few distributions", they're the two major distributions that everything else (except niche distros like Gentoo) is based on. The fact that Qt 4.7 is binary compatible...

Re: Nokia finishes Maemo5 support
By the time people are using Qt 4.7, I doubt anyone will still be using Maemo. RHEL 6 was just released-- with only Qt 4.6. Debian 6 is just around the corner-- also with Qt 4.6. Looks like Qt 4.7...

Re: n810 as phone
Notably, WiMax is 4G, so if you live in one of the rare cities with 4G, it might be doable. But you need to figure out a desktop environment and OS... There's really no maintained software for N810...

Perhaps it was, but even for its day, the keyboard looks like a big step backward from the Zaurus SL-C* line which began with the SL-C700 over 7 years ago!Guess so. One basic requirement for a...

Re: New Handheld Design Concept
The PC-Z1 is too big to be a handheld, and x86 is terrible in various ways (ARM wins in size, power consumption, and speed).
HTC Universal's keyboard looks terrible. ;)

The most expensive product Quirky's ever made was $80. I somehow don't think their methods will work for something $800...

Re: New Handheld Design Concept
The sliding cylinder at the bottom of the screen would have wires inside it. But that's a problem for the engineers who implement it. ;)
