Re: MSI Wind
It's been discussed before, but I say again, that I believe that "netbooks" are definitely competitors against the NIT for a sizeable percentage of current NIT owners, including myself, and the 3...

Re: An 'internet' tablet or a Linux computer?
Sorry, but I believe you made my point, If the NIT changes to add smartphone capabilties, it is, well, a smartphone by definition. At that point, we're talking NIT/Maemo/Phone vs. iPhone vs....

Re: An 'internet' tablet or a Linux computer?
I suspect that the N800 platform is going to be squeezed out by netbooks on one end, and smart phones (iPhone/Android) on the other. It may retain some market share as a swiss army knife (aka Linux)...

Re: $199 iPhone 2 (3G & GPS and exchange)
If those are the worst things you can come up with, than Apple is doing a great job. As far as the syncing issues, syncing is HARD, and nobody (including Palm & Blackberry) gets it perfect.

Re: $199 iPhone 2 (3G & GPS and exchange)
A couple of points:
1. Apple has a small share of the (desktop) computer OS market, but only compared to Microsoft.
2. Arguably, the vast majority of software professionals that are familiar...

Re: $199 iPhone 2 (3G & GPS and exchange)
A nice and valid sentiment, but Nokia ignores the iPhone at its own peril. I am a long time Palm-Treo user (and developer) and have seen a beloved platform (Palm OS) go to shameful lows.
To...

Re: $199 iPhone 2 (3G & GPS and exchange)
Completely agree! The $199 price point is amazing. I'm a developer and occasional hacker and appreciate the NT platform on many levels, but it has not lived up to what I was hoping it would be.

Tck/tcl
I found a GPL program called QDDB which might be a good simple, generic database for the ITT.
The source is in C, but also in TCL/TK (8.3). Is this available for our platform?
TIA

Re: VNC made easy
To correct what I believe is one confusion in the above post, from my understanding, Remote Desktop on Windows computers is *not* the same as VNC. Remote Desktop uses the RDP protocol, which, in...

Believe it or not, no matter how kludgy it is right now, the Palm VM (and the address book) is the only program which allows seamless synchronization between my desktop outlook and the Nokia. Yes,...

I'm not really understanding the thread here... Apple does have an internet tablet that competes directly with the Nokia, the iTouch of course. I await the real specs of the SDK (software...

Re: N810 vs N900
To me it seems obvious that the next gen will include some kind of cell/long-range type communication, but I really wonder how useful (in the sales sense) it will be.
