Re: fring Comes to the Internet Tablet

Gizmo relies [mostly] on open-standards (like SIP, Jabber/XMPP), and thus interoperates better than Skype.
But Gizmo also uses proprietary codecs and is as closed-source as Skype is.

Question Re: Traveling with the Nokia N810 and Wayfinder’s Map

Does WayFinder require an internet connection to provide turn-by-turn directions (as MaemoMapper does ?)

I'm planning a trip to Italy, and data roaming cost are too high to be usable.

Also, how...

Re: use usb to power the device?

A similar situation exists with external hard-disks cases, as most drives require up to 1A.
The solution is to use a Y-cable (with 2 USB plugs), thus drawing 500mA * 2)...

Re: Defining the Maemo Bugzilla scope

Having multiple locations for bug reporting/hunting is cumbersome, to say the least.
Unsurprisingly, it relates to the "multiple repositories and poor QA situation" discussed a while ago.

As much...

However, internal flash uses jffs2, which, by design, is resilient to ungraceful disconnection (e.g. power-loss).

Re: Synaptic Port - Need Help

Hi Qwerty,

You can try adding the following line to your /etc/apt/apt.conf:
APT::Cache-Limit 30000000;

Alternatively, you can put it in a file (e.g. 11bigcache) under /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/
