Hello,

I have now tried all the commands and here is my report.

Check, reboot, poweroff, power, location, remoteon, remoteoff, camera, call, lock, and unlock, all work fine. I also have the ssh...

Re: [Announce] SMScon (control your device with SMS)

OK, found out what was going on. When trying to make the ssh connection, smscon first pings the ssh server, and if there is no response, it does not even attempt to establish the connection. My...

Thanks, I tried power and poweroff and they work.
I do not however get any sms updates about keyboard use.

See my other post about issues with remote ssh connections.

Re: [Announce] SMScon (control your device with SMS)

Does the above setup work with an empty passphrase?
I have set up the keys and I'm able to connect via ssh and open the tunnel from the command line as root in the N900, but smscon fails to...

Re: {Announce] SMScon (control your device with SMS)

This would work great, I think. Do you know how to create an ssh user with no privileges and, especially, no login shell?
I tried reading about chroot jail and rssh, but these options still give the...

Re: [Announce] SMScon (control your device with SMS)

Hi. I'm using version v0.4.4-6 and most things I've tried seem to work fine, including check, reboot, location, camera (have to test in daylight), and lock.

Not sure what 'power' does since I...

Re: multi partition SD card

Perhaps it's easier to partition the SD card in Ubuntu using gparted (especially if you want multiple partitions)? I did that when I was trying Easy Debian.
Don't have clue how to this in Windows.

Re: [Announce] Phone Control Script

How do I install it?

Can I install by downloading the phone-control 0.2-4 deb for armel from the package page? Or do I need to add extras-devel to my repositories?

Thanks,

Re: what would YOU do if your phone was stolen?

I tried the ssh reverse tunnel in the background (with options -f -N to allow for the pass phrase). I think this is really cool if I want to use my work computer to do stuff on the phone.

But, now...

Re: what would YOU do if your phone was stolen?

I have already set up public key authorization, but since I'm very paranoid, I did it with passphrases. (Both into my middle server and into my N900).

Is there a way to run this business of the...

Re: what would YOU do if your phone was stolen?

The ssh reverse tunnel sounds like a nice feature. I just tried it and it works great. But how would you prevent the thief from simply exiting the connection with your home server?

Is there a way...
