I'ld suggest to use funambol. http://www.funambol.org
Download the Mac OSX Client. Get syncevolution on your N900. Oüpen an account on my.funambol.com or install your own funambol server.

Who needs such software, when having a N900?
The cool thing is, that you can copy all files you need by scp.
Every update is done by apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade
So no need for any...
