In fairness, this actually has a use (in the UK at least) because you can actually send SMSes to landlines - the landline will receive a call where a text-to-speech programme will read the text out....

Email client different update times
Hi,
Is it possible to enable/disable checking of email for certain accounts at different times of day using the N900 email client? Maybe even with a combination of scripts and alarmed, etc?

I'd be surprised if you can't. Phones 10 years ago seemed perfectly able to make (and recieve) analogue data calls. Normally this required a connection to a PC but the Nokia Communicator didn't...

Sim card holder issue - new N900 from Nokia!
I had the problem where my SIM card wasn't being recognised any more, even after reflashing etc. I suspected it was the SIM card holder as there was quite a lot of flex in it and the problem appeared...

I've just reflashed with Ubuntu Live CD after a multitude of problems on Windows Xp - just do it! It works straight out of the box with Ubuntu and is very easy.
