I installed Aptitude then installed from the command line (as root)
aptitude install fennec
It worked fine and upgraded the app.

FCam offers the opportunity to do that but I haven't seen anything that anyone has written to do it. It would be great though, light painting with an N900!

@arkanoid I've had this exact problem, I've turned off all syncing and just use the web versions of google calendar and contacts. EXTREMELY annoying.
