My N900 is alive again!

After 7 days of hard-work! From installing XP SP2 to SP3,running live CD to installing Linux 10.10 on PC I have gone through many failures,many frustrating...

N900 connects to WIndows Xp SP3 i.e. all drivers when I connect USB to N900 install without any problem but when I set N900 on PC suite mode and try to see notification on PC,there is no 'N900...

What I am using now on N900 is of 157 MB (renamed file,nokia_N900.bin) while the one which is 'latest image' in repositories has title : RX-51_2009SE_20.2010.36-2.004_PR_COMBINED_004_ARM.bin (i.e....

I have seen my N900 alive again!

For the one who wants to know how I did it :

I cold flashed it.till the last point on this page,all commands were completed without any error.

sudo ./flasher-3.5 -F FIASCO.bin -u

My first doubt is :

I always get "booting into flash mode" when I try to flash vanilla image.

Is it any kind of error? How can I avoid it?

History :

1)Flashing failed with Windowx XP SP 2 - Vanilla image error.

2) Windows XP SP 3 - both images flashed but when Vanilla was flashed first and then rtfs image,I got error 'flashing...

'Battery is full' Not displayed.

N900 does not charge to 100%,battery dies after 4-5 hours.

And 'Battery is full' is never displayed even after charging stops and I connect USB again to see whether 'battery is full' message is...

Can bluetooth be used instead of USB for flashing?

Or may be using Nokia Software Updater can be used to update the phone software if USB connection does not work.

I flashed fiasco first(eMMc must be flashed first) as somebody said it does not matter much.

but I could not flash eMMC because of this USB issue.

I can flash fiasco but not eMMC.When I use flasher,after 'device starting at flash mode'.........usb device not found,waiting...

Thanks for the reply.

MY PHONE DOES NOT GO IN USB MODE.

and flashing eMMC requires USB mode,so is there any other solution/option for this?

does Ubuntu need that usb mode too?

I am trying to reflash N900 but it only can reflash using 'combine.bin' file.If I use 'eMMC.bin' it gets stuck at 'device starting at Flash mode.............USB device not foung,waiting'

N900...
