Re: Nokia n810 for $220 incl shipping

Yeah. Repositories not found. Fun stuff. For example, tried to install battery power plus? Missing libs...missing repositories. Couldn't get Python to install. Added repositories...got some of...

Re: Nokia n810 for $220 incl shipping

There is definitely something in the pipeline...as should be obvious by the new operating system built around the much more powerful TI chipset. Didn't make CES, but lots of good stuff doesn't get...

Re: Maemo Mapper v1.4 for 770/N800

Same problem here. Running n800 with latest operating system firmware. I have an earlier version of Maemo-Mapper installed but it won't install the update.

Re: how do you convert DVD's to your N800?

This is a perfectly good question. If you google it you'll get a hundred different solutions...some of them very complicated...requiring multiple steps and reassembling video and audio. Surveying...

Re: N810 - $310 shipped

I offered $300 and it was accepted...but I didn't place the order soon enough and it expired. When I tried again, the 810 was no longer listed. From another post I read these are refurbs.

I just...

Re: will n810 be at costco?

While I like buying electronics at Costco too, they don't have quite the advantage they used to....probably because too many people abused the return policies.

I wouldn't limit myself to only...

Re: Known Good Data Phones

Same with 755p on Sprint network. First time was toughest, but now it mostly pairs without incident.

Re: Apple Tablet Confirmed by ASUS

An Apple PDA, that allowed developers to write software for it, and had a screen...writing surface like the iphone would be sweet. All solid state and mostly spillproof would make this the perfect...

Re: Cheapest all-you-can-eat data plan?

Problem is Sprint tracks DUN useage and charges for it separate from their umlimited data plan. They want you to buy a $40 tethered plan. With Palms there is software that can get you around that....

Re: Cheapest all-you-can-eat data plan?

That is a good overview page...much easier than going through 140 entries in the FatWallet thread (though most of the good info gets updated in the first posting.)

I'm on my 4th Sprint SERO plan. ...

Re: Cheapest all-you-can-eat data plan?

I use the Sprint SERO plan. Search for it on the FatWallet Hotdeals forum. It costs $30 a month total and includes 500 minutes talk, 7pm and weekends free, free Sprint to Sprint, Unlimited data,...

Re: How they should have designed it

Agreed, Psion way way ahead of its time. I owned Series 3's and 5's. I wouldn't have given up my 5 if it hadn't been hit by an errant basketball while sitting in my gym bag. Smashed the screen. I...

Re: How they should have designed it

Now you are getting closer to what I consider the ideal design...a clamshell. Instead of having the screen slide have it close. This affords some screen protection. Leave some room for basic...

Re: I wish Garmin Mobile makes it to the N810

If it works as well as their standalone GPS I'd buy it in a minute. One thing that is a bit concerning is they don't mention the software working with other bluetooth GPS's other than their own. I...

Re: another N810 first hand eval......

That is correct. I paid just over $1000 dollars for my first GPS about 5 years ago. It was a Roadmate 700, if I recall and it took a while for the price to drop from the original $1500 to the $1100...

Re: another N810 first hand eval......

Re: Can the N810 become my new business device?

I think you are being pedantic about using the word pedantic. ;-)

Unfortunately, if the n-series is Nokia's answer to multimedia, they are way out of their league. There are all kinds of devices...

Re: Can the N810 become my new business device?

This is exactly where I think Nokia is really missing a huge customer base with the n770/n800/n810.

They need "business" software preinstalled.

Palm continues to sell an antiquated operating...

Re: How they should have designed it

You could shrink it if you make it an optical mouse port. D-pads are for joysticks and videogames. Computers deserve mice.

Re: Bring back the Rexx 6000!

I still have a Rex...can't remember which version...unopened in a box. I'm waiting for it to become valued as an antique. :-)
