Re: Stellarium

Mine is the same as this, everything works fine and the program is awesome but the sky during the day is just black. Am I missing something?

Re: Teacher tells students Linux is “illegal” and confiscates their copies

I have also always been a Windows user and only tried Linux recently, just before I got my N900 (I now have a dual boot with XP and Ubuntu). I appreciate the benefits of Linux but I still think that...

Re: Nokia rolls out Qt SDK for unified mobile developer experience

Yes I realise it is a known issue and there are instructions in the wiki to get round it as in the link I posted before. Following the instructions works fine so its not a problem, I was just...

Re: Nokia rolls out Qt SDK for unified mobile developer experience

I had a few problems when I first downloaded and installed this new SDK version and tried to follow the getting started PDF file. The examples were listed as "not installed" and I only had the option...

Re: Things most reviews of the n900 missed.

Surely with how it is now, in whichever orientation you hold the phone, the arrows pointing in towards you physically are calls coming in to you and the arrows pointing out away from you are calls...

Bluetooth development

I have a number of issues with my N900 bluetooth connecting to my car kit (as do quite a few other people from looking through the forum and bugzilla) so I've been trying to look into it in the hope...

Re: How can somethings so good be so bad!

I don't think thats too bad, 2 hours of continuous GPS will pretty much kill the battery on my N95 too, and thats without the FM transmitter...

Re: QT Creator + Madde - > Howto get the ssh key

This is what I did, not sure if it is the correct way but it works ok for me:

1. Open up MADDE terminal in Windows.
2. Type "ssh-keygen -t rsa"
3. Pick a name for your key (I just called mine...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

Ok I have done that- Copied it straingt to MyDocs via USB in mass storage mode, unpackaged it ini the terminal on the device using "dpkg -i <myapp.deb>" and it works! There is a blank icon for my app...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

Ok I have just tried that and it seems to have worked, no error messages anyway. It's created a whole load of new files / folders in the original project folder. Now which files do I need to copy to...

Re: Qt and MADDE next steps

Yes you're right, that works for me too. I thought I had to put a \ between listed files as that is what QtCreator has done in its project file, my mistake.

Thanks very much

Re: Development is too hard. Help me - help you.

If you want to use the virtual machine method then I found the Nokia Qt for Maemo developers guide (http://wiki.forum.nokia.com/index.php/File:Qt_for_Maemo_Developers_Guide_v0_5_Beta.pdf) very...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

Well I think at the moment you still have to do it using the MADDE terminal in Windows and building a skeleton project to drop your source files into. I don't think there is currently a way to do...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

No, it won't leave the app on your device to run as standalone it will just run it once (or however many times you press play in QtCreator). Like I said it's just a quick way for you to test your...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

I don't know how to package and deploy the final release other than by using MADDE (and I didn't get that working yet either, I have another thread on that).

What I mean is you can compile your...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

Yes that is what I did too. If you now run the v1.3.8x version of Qt Creator you can design your forms, write your program, compile it and check it in Windows and then re-compile it for Maemo and...

Re: Qt and MADDE next steps

Hi Daniel,

I have run those commands, it is when I run mad make that I get the output as above.

Let me check if I have this right:

1. My output from Qt is basically just my source files - (a...

Re: Is the madde + Windows + QtCreator Guide missing a step?

I found the same thing when I followed the tutorial. I'm not sure it matters since I think the only thing missing is the compiler for creating programs to run under Windows but I fixed it anyway by...

Re: Development is too hard - Help me - help you.

I mean run them on the N900 from within Qt on my PC over the USB connection rather than having them actually installed on the device to be able to run once the USB is disconnected.

I'm also just starting to try writing programs for the N900, personally I have managed to get simple things working on the device with Qt and MADDE through following the MADDE/QtCreator integration...
