I had the same problem as firstohit. Just switch to matchbox/hildon and tap a text box. Leave the matchbox keyboard up in matchbox/hildon and then switch to the chroot.

Tso, in the gtkrc file, change the lines
color["InputBackgrdColor"] = "#ffffff"
to
color["InputBackgrdColor"] = "#000000"

and

color["VkbBgColor"] = "#ffffff"
to

J and K are the drives that you want to drop them in. Then you can move them wherever you want on your n800 when you unplug the cable.
