I wondered if the n9(50) becomes the nail in the coffin for the maemo / n900 community. The device(s) might grap quite some developer attention, resulting in a brain drain on the maemo...

after installing some programms (and removing them) the applet doesn't show the selected status anymore. Clicking the buttons still works. Any idea on how to get the highlighting again?

can you try to play a file using aplay in the terminal? Not sure whats its part of, might be the 'sox' package.

I'd say its either the index.html not encoding the arabic letters correctly, or the script not parsing the input correctly (it doesn't do any proper handing of encoding). Problem: espeak --voices...

for just playing e.g. wav files this might do:

sox g5ann_001 g5con_001 -t wav - | aplay


Somehow the delays from aplay are only an issue on my laptop, not on the n900.

I still haven't had...
