Re: Export facebook events to n900

Realise this threads a few days old but I've been experiencing the same thing - ideally I'd like all my calendars to be stored in one place - Google Calendars. So I linked my google calendar to my...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Well put, I tried to say that earlier in the thread. However I also added - why don't we have the desktops scroll vertically when in portrait mode? This would maintain background integrity (ie no...

Re: guitar pro for maemo

They are being quite stubborn and aggressive about the whole thing, if someone asked me to support an application I wrote on a different platform like that I'd probably [be a little disgruntled and...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] First public release of SomePlayer

You can control the volume while the phone is locked, I don't know why people are saying you can't. Suppose it's not particularly obvious.

To do it you need to get SomePlayer to override the...

Re: [ANNOUNCE] First public release of SomePlayer

Well I've had a bit of a play around with this and I do like it. Just a couple of suggestions:

It feels like it's entirely centred around building up large playlists, which is great, it's very...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Yeah that's exactly what it is - set it to 3.0 or higher for crazy results!

One thing I've noticed since this update is that the desktop background doesn't loop properly anymore. I have 4 desktops...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Loving the rate of updates - just goes to show how much more efficient a well-oiled open source machine is than layers of corporate bureaucracy.

I'm going to assume that once there is a stable...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I tried directing it back to the same file (as in > transitions.ini rather than > tmpFile) but transitions.ini came out blank. It's a weird sed thing afaik.

And no it does work, forcerotation...

Yes, I think everyone understands asking end-users to hand-edit a .ini file is not ideal :-)[/QUOTE]

I have tested this but just re-wrote it on my computer so sorry for any typos. Just get...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

How do I apply the css patch files? The N900 appears not to have the patch command (I know I could just diff and inject the code myself but surely there's a way to patch??)

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Just edit whichever transitions file you use in /opt/MaeModder/conf/transitions/[name of transition]/transitions.ini using vi (or whichever text editor you prefer). You can't access that directory...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

Make sure (as per my earlier post) that they are in the [thp_tweaks] section of the transitions.ini which will not exist in MaeModder transitions.ini files. So the bottom of your file should read:

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

I should add to this, because this confused me for a bit:

If you use maemodder to change your transitions.ini (as in you always overwrite the one in /usr/share/hildon-desktop) when you update, the...

Re: The in-development Maemo 5 Community SSU

This would be the sensible way of doing it - the first time you rotate it has all your widgets there in odd places then once you've placed them, it remembers. I also thought this.

I was also...

Re: [Announce] Maetronome - metronome app for Maemo 5 (now in Extras)

Re: Microsoft is the plague: Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out

By the time Nokia actually come round to releasing Windows phones, I'm sure WP7 will have many of the missing features. I believe the next update is due soon which will at least add copy-paste.

Re: Microsoft is the plague: Nokia stock drops 14% as 1,000 employees walk out

I'm probably one of the only people on here that doesn't mind this *too* much. Sure, Windows Phone 7 is not an open platform, but everything else about the system seems very nice. It's also got an...

Re: [TUTORIAL GIGA UPDATE] Do you smell it, do you? It's Gingerbread!

Re: Maemo 5 vs Android 3.0

If you're going to directly compare two things, then you can't really say certain aspects aren't "fair". What you're effectively doing taking every part of Maemo that can actually compete in some way...
