Re: Ask the Council!

Hi,

Both amigadave & myself follow along & usually catch spam.

I'd be happy to give you admin privileges so that you can revert edits directly, if you'd like to share the policing role.

Agreed. Just pointing out that I don't agree with all the things we consider blockers (and am on the record as saying that the...

Re: maemo.org website clarity & organization

Hi,

Here to help :) (although as you can tell, I don't keep abreast of the forum very often).

First stop: our getting started in the wiki page, linked to whenever you edit a page:...

Re: maemo.org website clarity & organization

Hi rotoflex,

I agree. This is a really good first opportunity to make changes in the wiki! I have taken a couple of your suggestions into account already, and modified the pages appropriately...

Re: maemo.org website clarity & organization

I'm guessing, but I bet the original author meant "hit" or "find". I've set it to "find" for now.

Re: Where did the Wiki instructions for Page Up/Down KeyBindings for MicroB go???

Hi,

I think you are getting to the heart of the matter.

Some people on the forums think of the forums as "our maemo.org" and everything else as "their maemo.org" - I would fundamentally...

Re: Where did the Wiki instructions for Page Up/Down KeyBindings for MicroB go???

Hi,

Note that I'm not saying this happened, but it's definitely a possibility. As the wiki maintainer, I have to think also about the usability of the wiki for visitors. A wiki can't be an...

If you'd like to turn some of that anger into productive effort to improve the wiki, I would be delighted to hear your suggestions for improvements.

The wiki gardners page...

Re: Where did the Wiki instructions for Page Up/Down KeyBindings for MicroB go???

Short answer: I don't know; there doesn't look to be any obvious edits removing them in the MicroB wiki page. There are a couple of us who follow the recent changes log (and we could use more people)...

Re: [Council] Community Council September election

Good initiative :)

I'm happy I documented how to generate the results in the wiki now.

Cheers,

Re: Where did the Wiki instructions for Page Up/Down KeyBindings for MicroB go???

Hi,

This is clearly not true.

http://wiki.maemo.org/MicroB_tweaks (the page mentioned in this thread) is one example.

http://wiki.maemo.org/Programming_the_DSP is another page targeting...

Re: Maemo community future

I find crystal ball works best... tea-leaves have been promising too.

I think the Maemo community will split in two. A substantial number of Maemo users & developers will stay signed up to...

Re: Search in google for my name and it points to maemo.org

Hi,

Perhaps if you link to your home page from your Maemo profile the page rank of that page will go up, and it will be the top result on Google. That was Maemo will only be second, and you...

Re: Announcing the Maemo Brainstorm 2010

Hi,

Sorry! I missed the request. will take care of it. Happy to see all the individual threads de-stickied anyway. Really the wiki is the place where everything should happen now.

Re: Ask the Council!

Hi,

To put some context on this (and Javier is working for Igalia, so is probably intimately aware of what's been pushed and isn't):

"pushing" Hildon, in the sense you're using it, is not...

Re: Maemo Missteps, your thoughts?

Well... kind of open.

Some counter-examples: "Compliance" criteria are starting to become clear - you will be required to ship all of the MeeGo core components, and not any replacement components...

I would be worried that you will run into the time troubles you had at the summit again - I like the slides, but they definitely feel a little text heavy. I think that they'd...

Re: Ask the Council!

Hi,

For my own part, as a non-council thread-usurper, one of the major failures of the council has been an expectation I've perceived that everyone not on the council expects the people on the...

Re: Extras enabled out-of-the-box on MeeGo-Harmattan device?

I disagree with this. What does Google do? What does Apple do? They enable distribution of applications through a market, and there is a clear expectation of all involved that nothing offensive or...

Re: Can't login anymore on community section (duplicate entry)

I've reverted the guilty commit. It wasn't actually mine - some unrelated changes that hadn't gone live that set off my bat radar, but I didn't second-guess the person who'd made the changes.

Can...
