Re: The new QWERTY device project

I know the development is well underway but will the device make use of the newly certified WPA3?

Re: The new QWERTY device project

My guess is like the recently announced Oppo Find X, where the camera slides out behind the screen, the screen itself is of the "bezel-less" variety, except in our case it slides out long ways for...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

So I was pretty much right with Alien Dalvik, they've gotten the appropriate licenses to work on and maintain Alien Dalvik themselves.

Re: Sailfish Android version update

I seriously doubt they'll use anbox. They've probably gotten the code from Myriad and have done the work themselves to make it work on a newer version of android.

Just because it's called Alien...

Re: Sailfish Android version update

it'll be interesting to see if someone can get Android working via webassembly, heck I might give it a try.

Re: [DEV] sfdroid: run android in a window

well sfdroid is moving at a slow pace, it's current form is anbox + sfdroid rendering method which requires kernel patches, and for most of us haven't been able to boot into anbox yet. mal has with...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

well what I wouldn't classify as unecessary thickness would be to have dual front facing stereo speakers, not sure where one would place them (outer edge of keyboard side, or on the display side), I...

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I don't think so, the keyboard, battery, SoC etc. is on the bottom half, it's just the screen (maybe speaker(s) too) adding a thin battery behind the display shouldn't affect it.

Re: The new QWERTY device project

I'm assuming this device will have the screen slide out instead of just the keyboard like the mod. So I was wondering if you thought about slapping a second (thin) battery behind the screen or would...

Re: MWC2018 news

I suspect it's not the Nokia 3310, I have seen a video of someone comparing the 3310 to a knock off and they looked surprisingly similar.

Re: MWC2018 news

Newer faster SoC, much bigger battery, rear-facing NFC reader/writer, rear-facing fingerprint sensor, marginally shorter.

Re: Nemomobile glacier UI. anyone seen it ?

I did bring up in a community meeting a while back about Splitscreen multitasking or some other more visual form of multitasking to Sailfish, and we concluded that we should implement it into the...

Re: AT LEAST Two More Blackberry Keyboard Phones Coming

Palm is now just a brand owned by TCL, like Alcatel, there's a chance that it could be open.

Re: Pokemon GO?

It won't ever work with Alien Dalvik, as it fails the safetynet check and won't ever pass it. I believe microg has a way to get around safetynet but that requires a version of Android that Alien...
