Re: [Announce] EvilAlarm

I guess this was mentioned before. You can trigger the alarm on commandline. This way you can use programs like alarmed or sleep analyser to fire evil alarm up whenever it fits your need. Especially...

Re: All about SleepAnalyser

As I'm not regularly using wakeup music I just stumbled about a little bug in SleepAnalyser's handling of music files. No matter which file in a given directory it selects for wakeup music, its...

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement

Another question: is there any way to configure the calendar widget so it uses only defined calendars. Currently it shows entries from some of my calendars but not from my most important one. So I...

Re: [Announce] QtLockscreen: highly configurable lockscreen replacement

I also don't get current weather displayed. But that might also be a faulty declaration of URL. Tried many possible URLs but neither does work. Calling URL in webbrowser works.

Re: [WIP] CloudGPS 0.4.8 - smoothest maps for N900

That did it for me! Just added line for qtm11 because this is installed version of libqtm-location. Now cloudgps shows gps status again and searches for location.

Re: sh removed that responsible to run most programs

Have an editor installed? Try open/edit /etc/shells with it. I guess you ain't installed backupmenu which could be helpful by booting into it's own set of binaries.
But at least you could create a...

Re: How important is your stylus to you?

I'm using it not that often because one of the first addons to my N900 was the "Touch screen pointer" from Krusell, a strap with a litlle stylus on. This way it can never get lost and it's faster to...

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 9th(v1.1)

Hi, I have some problems with BM. A few days ago the filesystem of my optfs broke and I have some "Stale NFS Handler"-files again. I know that there is absolutely no way to get rid of them except of...

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 9th(v1.1)

No, I'm always backing up uncompressed. So I guess it's something on my device that really gets broken. There are already so many little glitches that I'm currently considering doing a complete...

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 9th(v1.1)

No, just uninstalled a few huge games and optfs is actually 150MB smaller than last one.

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 9th(v1.1)

Just running BackupMenu 1.10 from repo. Are there any changes to backup functionality? Seems backup is way slower than before. I'd estimate a factor of three or four.
After booting into backupmenu...

Sounds awesome! Will have to try it right now! :D

EDIT:
Just to be sure: this works without CSSU or is it still needed for this package to work?

Re: Screen not showing, yet touch still active

I experienced similar a few times and reboot resolved it. Somehow hildon stuff crashed and did not restart properly. But your problem might be somehow different.
Do you have backup menu installed?...

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore | New version - Jul 1st(v1.0 RC1)

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore | New version - Apr 17th(v0.65)

OK, but in my given situation, with mass storage enabled or when ssh is acitve (which in turn means some partition is mounted, right?) it would be fine to have a reliable way to power off the device....

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore | New version - Apr 17th(v0.65)

May I throw one more in and make a wish for the ability to shut down device from backupmenu instead of only reboot / further boot? That would be really nice! Thanks in advance!

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore | New version - Apr 17th(v0.65)

Upgraded to 1.0pre? but when booting into backupmenu it still says 0.65. And I can't find some entry regarding format optfs.

Just tried to format optfs the manual way and this is what happened:...

Re: [Announce] BackupMenu V2 - OS backup & restore | New version - Apr 17th(v0.65)

Thanks for the hints, I'll give it a try. Didn't reflash yet as I just don't have the time needed for that. But reformatting sounds doable.
Just to get the steps right:

boot into backupmenu

Re: [ANNOUNCE] Catorise PLUS - create your menu like you want

you can try this on command line (as root):
dpkg --configure --pending

Maybe there are leavings from catorise which disturb installation of catoriseplus (shouldn't happen but who knows ...)....
