Are you sure the "Press U thing" is working?

Try uninstalling Flasher and all drivers that came with it and install everything again.

I think you don't need to worry if it will work or not on vmWare, Virtual PC etc etc. Try my suggestion first and its a 95% chance it will help you. If you have any problem just send a post here and...

Yepp that's one way to do it. Might be easier to just use the OS you already have.

I got the flash to work on a Win7 64-bit, no virtual PC used..

Just updated the libusb-win32 to 1.2.2.0.
