This is not wholly true. Some PDFs are scans of books (like google's), and these are images of pages. These types of PDFs are miserably slow on the NIT.

I am pretty sure that one of the catalogs I have enabled has the 2.0 version of libhildonmm. I don't know how to tell which one it is. I would disable it and install theremin.

the ajaxcam guy is doing exactly what I posted. I just left off the cache busting random number (the Math.Random part) that he uses because it doesn't work with all feeds. It shouldn't be necessary...

Actually, I was making a mistake. It works find in the browser on the NIT, you just have to embed the image in an html file. No JS necessary.
Save this in a file called webcam.htm

I know that iChat supports Jabber. Jabber is the protocol that both the NIT client and Empathy use to video chat using the Gtalk network. I would guess that you could use iChat instead of Empathy...

I decrypt my DVDs using AnyDVD, and I rip them to Xvid using AutoGK (using the same 400x240 res and 700Kbps bitrate as super.)
For other files, I use Super because it is dead simple and versatile....
