Re: Evaluating lightspreader of domesheet

Great discussion on this; I think you're spot on with your initial hypotheses of the root cause; I would think one of those is the culprit.

I really wish I had something to contribute, other than...

Re: Salvaging Parts from N900

Just realized I never got back to this thread with my status. The battery was the issue; New one off eBay got it back up and running :) Still works to this day in fact.

Re: Is there an N9 Slowdown?

Thanks to everyone's responses, that's great. Although there seems to be a consensus that going from a normal-speed GS3 to a N9 would be like a drop in perceived performance... the N9 is just a...

Question Is there an N9 Slowdown?

You know what I'm talking about... You get a new device (desktop, laptop, tablet, mobile phone), and it's snappy and responsive. Then after about the 8-month mark you notice things are taking more...

Re: Reasons to move from Maemo/N900 to MeeGo?

LOL I guess so. I just consider myself too busy with work to be able to put my time into it, but still want to explore the technology. Script kiddy is probably accurate.

Re: Reasons to move from Maemo/N900 to MeeGo?

I just don't understand why no other modern phone implements an FM transceiver and IR transmitter. THESE ARE AWESOME FEATURES! The N900 is just an awesome phone in general.

Re: N900 Won't Start

I see. I didn't know that about the batteries, I thought they were much simpler than that. I actually just ordered a BL-5J off of eBay for 2 bucks. I guess I'll wait a couple days and then update...

Thank you for your reply! To answer your questions:

-The battery was from an older N900 that died on me a couple months before (it got washed in the washing machine . . . I have terrible luck...

Exclamation N900 Won't Start [RESOLVED]

I haven't seen a thread on here quite like mine . . .

-N900 was working fine, had it a couple months.
-Accidentally let it die before I can charge it up. It's happened before, no big deal....

Re: Reasons to move from Maemo/N900 to MeeGo?

Man, that really stinks. I love my n900 mainly because I have full root, full Debian, and can crack WiFi networks.

Re: Reasons to move from Maemo/N900 to MeeGo?

Yeah I figured nobody could answer the WiFi driver question until the devices were out in hackers' hands.

I forgot one question, although I believe I know the answer: We can write our own MeeGo...

Reasons to move from Maemo/N900 to MeeGo?

The N9 and (especially) N950 look delicious as hell. My only problem is that I use my N900 for:

-Easy Debian
---MitM attacks
---Web server
-Packet Injection
-Game emulators [GBA, NES]

And...

Re: Salvaging Parts from N900

Thanks for the responses, I will try stripping it down as a few of you have mentioned. Will report back in a week or so, whenever I get a new battery.

Unhappy Salvaging Parts from N900

My N900 was accidentally left in my pants when they went into the washing machine. I tried the usual (bag of rice, leave on top of an old TV for 24 hours, etc.) but after days of trying I am calling...

Re: [Maemo 5] fAircrack (Aircrack GUI)

You should check the Keys tab to see if you cracked the key already -- Hit "Decrypt" --> "Keys" --> "Refresh Saved Keys" --> click the capture file in the list --> "Show Key"

I only say this...

Re: [Maemo 5] fAircrack (Aircrack GUI)

Yes, exactly. But I have noticed that you should disable them in the following order: Monitor Mode, then Injection. Also note that it won't let you know that Injection is disabled -- Just press it...

Re: [Maemo 5] fAircrack (Aircrack GUI)

Do you disable the drivers in the app when you're done? WiFi won't work in a normal fashion while you have the injection drivers loaded.

Re: [Maemo 5] fAircrack (Aircrack GUI)

Sorry for the late reply. On your Ubuntu (or other *nix) box:
-Install OpenSSH
-Port forward TCP port 22 on your router to the box
-Set the computer's IP address to a static IP outside of your...
