Ram is built into devices for a reason, it has advantages over normal storage:

As it is a debian based system, you should be able to run all current opensource browsers.

E.g.
Chromium & Firefox, which may be to much for the little RAM
but also Dillo, Konqueror and others...

I use my Nokia 808 often. It has an LED along the Xenon flash for use as torch and for finding the focus.

The Xenon flash is awesome, no doubt. Its way brighter than an LED and thus the phone...

slow enough that even the slow processor of the N900 should apply the simple compression at a much faster rate.
