Re: Intex Aquafish for sale (Germany)

Or Yalp Store (https://f-droid.org/packages/com.github.yeriomin.yalpstore/) - an unofficial open source Play Store client.
I use it on daily basis and it works well. Even without any Google apps...

Re: Nokia N9 applications(Meego Harmattan)

There is also the Freedisc.pl which seems to work.
The advantage is a free downloading.
But sometimes has problems with broken files.

Re: SailfishOS on Motorola Droid 4 XT894 (alpha port)

@TheKit
Why not OK -> CTRL?
It would be more convenient for pressing most popular CTRL + Z,X,C,V at once due to a larger space between keys. Otherwise it would be harder to press f. e. CTRL+X combo...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

In my opinion - a rather-small-screen user - not the size of the screen matters but the overall of the device.
I place hope in "narrow bezels style" but I'm afraid this would "only" lead to bigger...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

I agree. Currently, it sounds like a science fiction.
Just wanted to show kind of a draft of the idea.

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

In my opinion, using e-ink screen as the keyboard is mostly the same as using on-screen keyboard due to the same flat surface without any perceptible forms which make typing on hardware keyboard...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

Is the mentioned screen used in some other devices?
If so, that would mean an availability of the spare parts.

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

Assuming that the device will be released with Android OS (AOSP, LineageOS, etc.) what version of Android (number) would it be shipped with?

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

Hard to say.
On the other hand, paying attention to the fact that some broken displays even with falling out pieces of glass do work it might be similar capacitive technology as in the screens. So...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

I suppose those horizontal bars might matter and do work like a touchpad.
It would be hard, expensive to implement such on every one key.

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

Motorola Droid 4 has LTE working only in North America only so adding support for more LTE bands in the face of plans of 2G network shutdowns and cutting down 3G bandwidth would be in my opinion a...

Re: The choice of OS of the new QWERTY device project

In my opinion, Moto Z seems to be more like a phablet and Motorola Droid 4 doesn't support LTE everywhere beside North America so the device might find its niche with for example 4,5"-5,3" display...

For example from XDA-Developers - I suppose also there...

Re: Help with stopping ads in Android 7

Most probably the simplest option (without any investigation but only if you don't have any important data) would be a factory reset.

Have you got root access on your device?

Re: Sailfish OS (officially) on Sony Xperia devices

I live without gapps for about 2-3 years. So yes, it is possible. :D

Only the pop-up in some apps annoys me.
Most of the applications still do work but I have to close a dozen or two of pop-ups....

Re: SailfishOS on Motorola Droid 4 XT894 (alpha port)

Most probably no chance.
Built-in 4G/LTE modem supports only one band which is not used in Europe.
Some details about built-in modems (there are 2) are available here:...

Re: SailfishOS on Motorola Droid 4 XT894 (alpha port)

1. From what I know you have to mount it manually. Doesn't work as is (if my knowledge is up to date).
2. I am able to use it on both 2G and 3G in Poland so it should work in Germany as well.

2. Installed it by # rpm -i file.rpm
3. Most of the applications I have installed later using Warehouse (it almost doesn't hang up on...
