Re: Official: No MeeGo for the N900

So, why is this NOT in the NokConv post? Nokia seems to be working as 101 little companies, no harmony whatsoever in marketing.

"The Nokia MeeGo products will be based on capacitive screens, while...

Re: HK N900 running 10.2010.12-9. Is this the PR 1.2?

Could you stop for just a minute with the rage?

First of all, while I do look forward to some of the bug fixes in PR1.2, it is not even a minor version - it is a major one, coming with Qt 4.6 and...

Re: “Everyone else has caught up and Nokia has been left behind,”

Maybe we could skip this sentence now. I'm from Europe, I travel on the metro and see iPhone or Samsung.

Re: Why is the Apple UI so fluid and ours isn't?

My two cents on the fluidity of the iPhone UI:

1. Prioritization of tasks
- if audio shutters, it is quite annoying
- if you receive a phone call, waiting seconds is not an option to see who is...

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)

My suggestion for Forum areas:
- end-users (newcomers, power users)
- community (community members, contributors, council)
- developers
- builders (vendors, hobbyist) [new with MeeGo]

I...

Re: MeeGo: rebrand / rebirth?

Probably this (who loses what, who wins what) discussion also shows why starting with an empty forum or a website structure, which is different from both parent initiatives, is a good idea.

Re: free self expression about NOKIA and its promises!!

Here is my free self-expression:

Nokia delivered to me what they promised - a non-consumer device, which is rough around the edges and the 4th step out of 5 to a consumer device.

I'm unhappy...

Eye-fi with N900

I just got my Eye-fi Geo (2GB) card yesterday and had a little bit of fun with it already, when a thought striked me: the Eye-fi card would be an excellent photographer companion, together with the...

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)

So, there is a decision now to:
1. have a forum for meego (good)
2. use vBulletin (good)
if I understand correctly?

Would it be possible to implement single sign-on already at the start? I mean...

Re: Pushing the maemo.org karma concept to meego.com?

I think we should take a Milestone for having the definition for Community activities e.g. end of Feb. And implementation in 1 week :)

Then the MeeGo sources go online and the whole thing will get...

Re: Pushing the maemo.org karma concept to meego.com?

We use this in my team, but this is in addition to the normal karma-earning methods. This is how it worked for us:
* you get 10 give-away-karma-points every month
* you are free to give this...

Re: Pushing the maemo.org karma concept to meego.com?

I think the slight unbalance in the karma "formulas" do not make a big difference. There is usually visible diff in the first 2-4 weeks and probably after 1+ year, but the first period passes quickly...

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)

However, opt-in migration should be offered. We are talking about 34000 people (not the forum) to possibly be migrated?

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)

On second thought, migrating the 30,000 members and providing a continuing path should be our first priority.

Re: MeeGo forum? (maemo.org round)

My vote is on:
* migrating the 34,000 members in an opt-in way [Editet after Milhouse's post]
* starting clean (empty forums)
* starting w single sign-on

Additional thoughts:
* timeline:...

If you are participating in the...
