Re: Skype for Nokia N800/N810

I haven't tried recently, but 2 years ago Skype in n800 worked perfect. I believe protocol hasn't changed, so there is a good chance it will work even today. Maybe someone can give a recent report.

I have exactly the same idea. I also need Nokia Maps/Drive. The Lumias look quite nice and smooth. Despite being Windows.

Re: decent android toy <200$?

Careful:

It cannot tether via BT.

Cannot tether via Wifi to Nokia or iPhones, as it does not support ad-hoc wifi.

You basically need a fully functioning hotspot. Problem with most Androids.

Re: The N900's Best Android Alternative

It has only 3-Band 3G. 900 MHz missing.

Not suitable if you travel a lot. Modern Nokias all support 5-Band.

I have a N810.

Use it daily for several hours: browsing, email, ebook (pdf), MP3. Notebook substitute (with BT keyboard) when travelling. It is still more in use than my real computer.

Re: N800 Jittery Display

I had this too recently. There is no real solution, it is the end of the N800.
