Bluetooth with a PIC would be good. You could even configure it to only accept connections from certain mac addresses, and to open when the dial button was pressed.

Sadly, I feel that for convenience, a GSM door opener would be a better choice. It isn't range limited (so you can trigger the door as you drive up the front driveway), it is zero cost once...

I lusted after the 770, but by the time I could afford to buy one the 800 had just come out. There is a small part of me that will probably resent the deluge of interest when the 900 goes live, but...

Delayed on/off for the icons. Think about it.

1) Start scrolling the background and the icons off at the same time, but have the icons move slightly faster so that the background is only 50%...
