Re: Stock media player problem :(

I've run into this problem a few times now. Re-indexing everything doesn't fix it for me; I always end up having to reflash.

It usually happens soon (but not immediately) after I install mobile...

Re: Replacing entire N900 case

Has anyone tried this? I ordered the same item. My N900 fell out of the cheap bike mount I bought form Hong Kong while I was going pretty fast... and then fell out again when I tied it in for the...

Re: Buy Android Phone

Maybe, but there are things to consider about how an Android phone would match up with the N900 too, right?

I've been thinking about this myself. I have an N900 (tmobile) and a Touch Pro (sprint.)...

Re: how to get bluetooth pc105 keyboards to work with N900

Lots of thanks to Qole; I was able to modify his instructions to get x2x working with all the normal keyboard buttons to share my laptop's keyboard and mouse. :D

I did have to make one change;...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

Thank you; that does help. :( I am really sorry about that error... I thought I'd found out what was causing it and fixed it, but obviously not.

If anyone runs into it and still has Freeciv...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

Are you only using Extras-Testing? The post-Firmware update version is only in Extras-Devel because of some problems with it on some devices.

@ kyllerbuzcut -- I put a new version in Extras-Devel,...

libsdl, zlib1g, freeciv-data, freeciv-server, and freeciv-client-sdl. Please let me know if any of these fixes it for you!

You are absolutely right, which is why I am not promoting it back into...

Re: Sony UX series

I bought a UX180P a while back. I loved it -- high resolution screen, and Windows everywhere I went.

At the time, I was using Windows and Linux about equally. I started using Linux only more and...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

This sounds like a different problem than before. The man page thing is a false lead -- it's not needed, and I should see if I can stop it from installing since Maemo purges the man pages anyway (why...

Re: Comix or Comic Book Viewer for Maemo 5 (N900)

Thank you very much! That was educational to me; seeing someone else use Comix differently than I do showed me quite a few bugs I hadn't noticed. (Especially in regards to missing translations of...

Re: Comix or Comic Book Viewer for Maemo 5 (N900)

Same here, actually. :) On the desktop, I use comix with Manga mode turned on.

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

Great advice -- I did it, and Freeciv should be back in devel now.

PR1.1 changed how SDL apps work, though... it turns out there's a minor graphical glitch in the in-program task switch button...

Re: Comix or Comic Book Viewer for Maemo 5 (N900)

Oops. It looks like the vanishing icon was caused by me being overly ambitions optifying everything... there's a new version in Devel that fixes this (and actually, um, runs on the post-Python...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

It should have been an older version that was removed -- according to the package manager, it should be there, but of course isn't. I'm trying to figure out why.

I thought it was going rather...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

Thank you for the detailed information! This could be a mispaste, but do you have a space between "sed" and "-i" and "-i" and "s/bash/sh/" and "s/bash/sh/" and "/var/lib/dpkg/info/freeciv*inst"? It...

Re: Comix or Comic Book Viewer for Maemo 5 (N900)

It should be okay to install normally.

*That* problem is fixed, and I have no issues with it on my N900 yet, but it's still untested at large.

A new version of Freeciv should be showing up in Extras-Testing soon. I've updated it upstream's 2.1.10, and last night made fullscreen default and added a task switch button to the upper left. (It...

Re: New Port: FreeCiv SDL

Theoretically, this might work...

sudo gainroot
apt-get -f install

... or if it doesn't...

sudo gainroot
cd /var/lib/dpkg/info
mv freeciv-*post* /tmp
