Re: Research Questions on Tablets and Maemo

How about look at the community and open source aspects of Maemo compared to Moblin/Android/ and how well these development strategies/communities work. Although that is more about sociology and...

Re: PSA: itT, maemo.org and their wikis

I must admit that I haven't been paying attention to maemo.org and the work being done there. I just pop into ITT once in a while for news and with the ITT wiki just one click away I kept going...

Re: Buggy Blackberry Storm OS the "New Reality"

Maybe releasing early is more profitable despite the resulting bad reviews. The problem is not only the sellers. It lies also with people who blindly buy version 1.0 devices.

Re: Show off your screenshots

Great icons! Why not make a package for Maemo Extras? Maybe together with ian_ryge's themes.

Re: WebKit engine for default browser

The scrollbars can be removed in Microb by tweaking userContent.css. See the ITT wiki. there is no kinetic scrolling afaik.

Re: ubuntu forums = lame

You are right. But It seems like a tragic law that whenever a forum gets popular it becomes useless even to newbies because questions are left unanswered and searching the forum will lead to less...

Re: ubuntu forums = lame

The flood of newbie questions, often the same questions asked again and again by people who don't search (or think) first is one of the reasons why I moved to Arch Linux. Their forums and wiki are...

Re: N810 vs anything else?

If you bring this up on an Apple forum the reply will be variations on "why ever would you want to do two things at once?".

Re: Announce: New Maemo Themes!

Looks great! I can imagine it tooks many days to put this together. I have tried making a Maemo theme myself a few times but I found the process too tedious. Making a 'regular' desktop gtk theme is...

Re: WebKit engine for default browser

I wonder what the difference in speed would be with some speed tweaks (http://www.internettablettalk.com/wiki/index.php?title=Internet:Microb_Tweaks) enabled for Microb.

Re: Arrington on TechCrunch - Wants A Touch Screen Web Tablet Built

They show that a group of likeminded people can design a gadget using off-the-shelf components, which I think is interesting. But for now it's just vaporware.

Re: What should Planet maemo's "thumbs down" icon signify?

I think it is fairly normal human behaviour to only vote for something when it is perceived that one will benefit from it. So this would be doubly true for voting about voting.

Even though I like the speed increase of Webkit I will keep...

Re: Where is Nokia - no announcement no product - still in hibernation

I think foldable screens have the potential to turn a smartphone into a internet tablet competitor.

Re: Is there something wrong with the latest Diablo image?

That sounds like a bummer. But did you seriously expect them to peel off the screenprotector and put it on the replacement? An experienced gadgeteer like you should've known.

Re: ZAGG invisibleSHIELD Screen Protectors - Avoid!

I have used both WriteRight and the BoxWave anti-glare, and I'd say go with the Boxwaves. They last for at least half a year/one year unless you really abuse them with keys in your pocket and things...

I think the OP is right in the sense that the device is presented as 'the internet in your pocket' while it isn't the same internetexperience as on a pc. On the other hand it's a bit naive to expect...

Re: Macbook Air isn't /that/ thin!

I've played with it in the shop. I think it looks great but its limitations (http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/01/macbook-air-rev-b-mini-review/) make it not usable as a primary computer for me. I...

And how is that the fault of the N8x0? The perceived slowness is also a matter of expectations. handhelds will not be as fast and capable as desktop computers for some time to come, so if you're...

Re: Help me not to implode my Nokia 800

There have been about 20 topics already about the yahoo site. Yes it's a shame the regular version doesn't work but the classic version should work fine. I too would suggest to upgrade the os.
