i made some initial work porting Stellarium (http://www.stellarium.org/screenshots.html), but since the device is not out yet, i don't know if there will be any usable port. At least in scratchbox it...

Just take a look at the Saemo Summit Photostream at Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=maesum&m=tags&ct=0&mt=all&adv=1). Most of the pictures are taken with a N900.

Most likely. But they need to be cross-compiled for ARM tweaked to fit the user interface. the complexity of this task can vary from trivial to (almost?) impossible :)

Very good idea! I am thinking of some app similar to the gnome art manager (http://www.miketech.net/gnome-art/gnome-art1.png) that allows you to browse/download/set wallpapers from online resources...
