Ad 3: I love my moribund N900 for:
0. true multitasking, it's me who decides
1. good hw kb (can't imagine my life w/ virtual kb only)
2. installing &updating apps with apt-get; terminal (it's...

Re: [Fremantle] Android inside chroot

After a brief look there it needs some patched uImage, so we'd need first to patch the kernel, once again. Or it might be simply an Android kernel.

lexik, if you're unable to do the kernel job on...

N900 vs Neo900 vs Jolla

It seems I'll need to buy a new phone is some more or less distant future, so I'd like to gather the opinions.

Suppose your old N900 is bricked. Which one would you choose and WHY? Don't forget...

Re: N900 suddenly decided to eat its battery in less than day

The same battery seems to work nice in my spare N900. Has ~2 days of uptime if used only for playing audio tracks.

Or maybe the SIM card is the one to blame?

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

First of all, bugs need to be fixed. Then maybe some extra functionality.

Re: N900 suddenly decided to eat its battery in less than day

What in powertop does suggest that it's hw related?

Should I do a emmc+rootfs flash, or will rootfs only suffice?

Re: N900 suddenly decided to eat its battery in less than day

My powertop scan: http://paste.ubuntu.com/8466574/
I did it ~4 mins after a reboot.

Btw. I noticed that sometimes if I enter 2 keys very quickly (e.g. "iw") then 3 keys are received ("ifw"). And...

Re: N900 suddenly decided to eat its battery in less than day

I have one account in modest (I can't imagine my life without it - I know about no other finger-friendly e-mail for N900). How did you find out that it's modest.

I don't use Skype, Google Talk is...

@UJKU: but we can't capture more than the sensor can capture, can we?

Re: N900 suddenly decided to eat its battery in less than day

What the hell is that(see attachment)? Bnf shows that the predicted uptime is < 6 hrs
I'm on bme replacement (so bqCapacity doesn't work)

The same batteries work perfectly on my spare N900.

Re: [Announce][Fremantle] FlopSwap - Swap GUI Management

-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1785 Sep 24 09:24 /etc/event.d/relocateswap

So I'll try purging flopswap and reinstalling it and then I'll add something to debug to the relocateswap script.

Re: camera-ui2 (now a part of CSSU) (updated 09. May)

Its 2584x1938 - 2576x1936 = 20656 pixels more, so 20656/4987136 = 0.00414 = 0.414% (approx.) more pixels if we used the full sensor capacity. Why should we care then?

Re: [Announce][Fremantle] FlopSwap - Swap GUI Management

Show current shows a list of 3 swaps: one internal, 2 usd.

I agree that the banner about finishing is useful, but a banner can be easily missed when it comes to e.g. checking current write.
