I installed the deb file on my N900 with dpkg -i, and now it just works.

Almost... But I can't seem to find libao to install. Any hints on the repository? I have all the different "extras" activated.

If I can remember how to make it run as a daemon, script would be more than sufficient for my purposes.

Have you tried extended play on the n810? I never could make it play for a longer time...

Something has changed at TVKaista or in some N900 library. I am no longer using the N900, and thus not going to debug this, but if someone wants to look under the hood, I am happy to help you get...

Hmm. I am having a hard time getting the settings in the conf file have any effect. And sometimes the conf file resets to defaults. Anyone else with the same problem and any ideas for a fix?

I would also be interested in getting this running. I already have it running on an Ubuntu Server, where I had to and could substitute some of the packages with others.

No, I do not know any details behind the mono audio, except that it could be a misguided attempt to make the file as small as possible.

Personally, I have no problem downloading the quality...

This has been observed before with some N900/wifi router combinations when you have the wifi power saving setting at maximum. Lowering the setting may be a workaround for you.

Overclock needs a different kernel, so just start with a reflash and maybe swappolube-nogui, and see if that's satisfactory.

Ok, TVKaista is now putting YLE subtitles directly on the picture for all the converted formats - i.e. no need for separate subtitle files for the formats that are usable on N900.

Version 11-1 adds support for resuming cancelled downloads.

Cancelled downloads are shown with the "broken picture" symbol (see the screenshot), and will resume download from where they left off....

YLE subtitles for streaming still seems beyond solution, but subtitles for watching while downloading should work - and be essentially the same thing as streaming. Think I will start with that small...

Version 10-1 (also in extras-testing) fixes the rerun bug and adds a dbus dependency to support users who have not installed other python apps.
