Re: N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

OK I hacked it so it sleeps properly now by changing these lines in the kernel:

static void rx51_usb_set_pm_limits(struct device *dev, bool set)
{
- omap_pm_set_max_mpu_wakeup_lat(dev, set ? 10...

Re: N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

Nope, here's what happens:

Nokia-N900:~# kernel-config show
current kernel configuration:

supported frequencies: 125 250 500 550 600 700 750 805 850 900 950 1000 1100...

Re: N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

Hi guys,

Thanks again for your ideas. I've been using the start/stop bme commands to restart the charging daemon (necessary each time it becomes full). I have also developed a regimen of other...

Re: N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

Hi Blackjack4it,

That's the sort of thing that broke my charging port in the first place (except it plugged into a car). It's also very likely a "dumb" charger (same as the Nokia one) and...

Re: N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

Before anyone asks, I forgot to mention that I've tried a reflash (incl MMC) so it's definitely a hardware problem.

N900 CPU C-state (sleep) profile configuration

Hi all,

I broke some of the charging hardware on my n900 by plugging it in to a cheap car charger. The consequence is that now the n900 always thinks it's attached to a dumb-charger (so it's the...

Re: MeeGo is not dead! (Or, put your money where your mouth is)

I don't see why you assume Intel can't win in price/power in mobile. They have the best silicon technology in the world -- they just need to build the right chips out of it. Maybe Medfield is that...

Re: N810 as a bluetooth hands free device

New traffic laws in my province are in effect starting tomorrow, that require a handsfree/speakerphone while using a cell phone in the car. Given that I already use my n810 as an in-car media...

Re: N920 and Capacitive?

Again, you are talking like the n900 is capacitive, which it isn't. I'm confused.

Re: N920 and Capacitive?

I think you are entirely misunderstanding me. The n900 is THE "car" most suitable to my needs at this time. I'm not anti-n900 at all, nor anti-Maemo5. Remember, n900 is resistive, so it fits my...

Re: N920 and Capacitive?

I agree with your analogy, but let me apply a motivation. I want a truck, not a Mini at all. However, all that fits in my pocket is a Mini or other similar sized vehicles, and this is a hard...

Re: N920 and Capacitive?

Like I said, I don't fail to adapt, but I merely tolerate the adaptations and they irritate rather than excite me. What interests me is getting full versions of desktop software running on mobile...

Re: N920 and Capacitive?

Try using remote desktop (or VNC) and controlling traditional desktop apps at the n810/900's insane dpi without a stylus or the accuracy that comes from resistive. My n810's job is to extend my PC...

Re: Where does the N900 swap live?

I'm not sure that's right. Modern flash is worse at cycling, and it's only getting worse as the lithography drops. Corwin was correct, spreading the writes across the whole card will significantly...

Re: The AT&T 3G issue

I'm doing VoIP over 3G instead of using voice minutes (my plan is data only), and EDGE doesn't work with VoIP, at least not on the E71. So for me, lack of 3G does actually equal "can't actually use...

Re: The AT&T 3G issue

Nobody has corrected this yet, so I will. In Canada, Rogers and Fido both use the same 3G frequencies as AT&T. Those two (actually only one company/network) are currently Canada's only GSM...

Re: N900 Specifications

I don't think the n900 has the same 3G frequency as AT&T uses, so it'll work as a GSM phone and using EDGE for data but no 3G. This also excludes ALL of Canada since there's only one GSM provider...

Re: N900 Specifications

I'm confused about the 3G data connectivity. First of all, the n900 doesn't have any frequency that is relevant to me in Canada, but does " Maximum speed PS 384/384 kbps (DL/UL) HSPA 900/1700/2100"...

Re: N900 specs revealed

I don't see it but it could easily be hidden beneath the glass. Shouldn't the Maemo5 API be pretty definitive (there will be one camera or two)? I wouldn't use the front facing camera anyway, but...

Re: N900 specs revealed

Damnit... no Canadian 3G frequencies. I wonder if I'm SOL or if there will be a Canadian variant.

Re: Sudden battery life decrease, not related to CPU usage

Even a few days in standby seems short. I get over a week of light usage + standby between charges on my n810. Perhaps you got a dud battery?
