Re: ICE Cream sandwich Could this kill n9 before it is really out there?

I don't think its a stupid question at all, because I ditched my N900 in favour of an Android device (though granted, that had nothing to do with ICS) because I just couldn't live with the lack of...

Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?

Well I finally got my LG Optimus 3D and so can confirm that I either have a defective unit or Sony Ericsson are idiots, because the battery life is identical to when I was testing on Maemo.

No...

Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition

Its a fair point, I think I need to edit the FAQ titles as it could be clearer what is covered in each section.

Unfortunately I do not believe there is any other way to change the disks, although...

Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition

http://uae4all.csdprojects.co.uk/faq

I believe UAE4All Maemo only supports two drives as more than that caused out of memory errors in some games due to it only emulating an A500.

WineUAE...

Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?

As I understand it the SDK is only for writing plugins for the Android LiveView daemon, what we need is a copy of the daemon ported to N900.

I'm afraid I have pretty much given up on implementing...

Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?

Not a good start, did a full charge and the battery drained completely in only a few hours despite claiming 96 hours of use on the box.

I wonder if perhaps the Python code is probing too...

Re: Sony Ericsson liveview and Maemo?

Just ordered one of these as I will be getting an Android phone soon anyway.

In the meantime I will have a tinker with these Python scripts as it sounds like it shouldn't be too hard to at least...

Re: Buffalo Wireless router (DD-WRT)

And I am also using it with no issues so far.

It is much better than the official Buffalo DD-WRT although there has been mention that there will be a new official Buffalo version based on this...

Re: Titan's Power Kernel bug? - Can't see DD-WRT APs

Is there a particular reason you cannot just use the latest DD-WRT?

I realise its referred to as unstable, but quite frankly I find it more stable than the stock firmware my router came supplied...

Re: Debian or ubuntu or what?

Its only wrong if you are coming from the GNU side, for everyone else its perfectly viable. The fact there is such a big debate what is the right way to refer to Linux is proof enough to me that...

Re: LG Optimus 2X - First mobile dual-core processor

Also I notice the A9 is out-of-order execution, that in itself makes its more efficient I believe.

I do not understand it exactly but its something along the lines of being able choose which...

Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition

Believe me, if I could get my head around it I would be working on a QT GUI for it. But I would literally be learning from scratch. I haven't even figured how to change the key mapping yet.

Re: UAE4All Maemo Edition

To be fair, the MyDocs thing IS confusing as the only time you will actually see it is from the terminal. Its invisible when plugged into the PC (your N900 drive letter is MyDocs) and the GUI is...

Re: Update for Enhanced kernel for power users just released

How come this kernel STILL doesn't work with a DD-WRT powered router set to multimode?

Quite upset about that as I do not want to have to gimp the speed of my laptop just to use WiFi on my N900,...

Re: Time scale for UK PR1.3 announced by Nokia

I have been on O2, T-Mobile, Vodafone and Three. As I recall all of those networks block certain sites/services by default and you have to ask for the content lock to be removed, so your argument is...

Re: overclock pr1.3 ?

I hope Titan comes and posts specifics about this. While kernel-power might work with PR 1.3 there are no guarantees that it has the same bugfixes that PR 1.3 has, so it could still cause problems...

Re: N900: Bluetooth dropouts

There is a known issue with the N900 that if you have the "autoconnect to WiFi" function enabled it will interfere with Bluetooth every time you come into range of any WiFi connections.

As its a...

Re: Pr 1.4 plan!

Your iTouch is a generation newer than the N900, it has almost twice the CPU power (not counting overclocking the N900) and double the RAM, just for starters. Not exactly a fair comparison.

The...

Re: Disable Xorg loggin?

I was wondering if you can change that line myself for other reasons. I would like to remove the "-nolisten tcp" so I can run desktop apps with output on the N900. I realise there are other ways to...

Re: Firmware 1.3 on its way????

Bearing in mind people found Maemo 5 to be incomplete for a phone OS there is no way you can count Meego as being ready on N900 until its at LEAST comparable functionality wise to Maemo 5.

Re: Firmware 1.3 on its way????

Flash memory by its nature fragments BELOW the filesystem layer, its how it makes sure no one part is worn out greater than another. As such any slowdown is unlikely to be caused by fragmentation.

Can you post some examples of gstreamer over IP as I have tried all the ones I could find from google and not had a lot of success with them.
