Sometimes you need togglable button, sometimes checkbox and sometimes switch. They all have the same semantics but different look. Thats why there is setViewType(...). So setCheckable can't decide...

Dunno about orbit, but there are no technical reasons why you can't ship DirectUI lib with your app.

Orbit and Dui are UI Frameworks which provide ways to write finger oriented, highly animated applications. Basically something similar to what iphone, android or palm pre provides. QWidget is not...

Sure. Libdui, is open source, multiplatform UI framework. It depends on QT. Certain parts depend on D-Bus, Socket, ICU,...

I said it many times. You can run Qt apps on Maemo and Symbian. Noone is going to remove that. Don't want to write platform specific app with DirectUI, use QWidgets and you will be fine :)

You are confusing me. When you say DuiApplication do you actually mean all widgets and classes which directui provides? So you want to create QPushButton, QLabel and have interface like iPhone or...

Well, how much time did it take to get animation framework into 4.6? Which is fairly simple. I took a look at activity of itemview-ng and there were only few commits during last several months....

I wouldn't put my money on itemview-ng. It's a great research project but not much more. Not to mention that it will take years until it become part of QT. I would suggest to all angry people...
