Re: [Request] Some Essential Apps for N9

Actually, I really can't. Not without adding a third page of buttons. Maybe if I remove the pi-button... How important do people consider that?

This and landscape mode will arrive in the...

Re: [Request] Some Essential Apps for N9

The swiping action already performs the task of a shift function, and I have two full pages of buttons. I think feature creep would really ruin ease of use. Maybe I could add a tip that points out...

Re: [Request] Some Essential Apps for N9

Thanks. I have to admit I've never owned an RPN calculator, but I personally prefer seeing the command line history as equations instead of stacks. Wouldn't it be really hard to match lines from the...

Re: [Request] Some Essential Apps for N9

Not yet. I'm not sure what kind of keypad layout to use. Any opinions?

If you end up liking Ala, try Kala (http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=79603) too :)

Re: [Request] Some Essential Apps for N9

Nice timing, I submitted a calculator app to QA a few days ago. I'll update this post when it's available (it should appear as "Ala Advanced Calculator"). EDIT: Now in the store

It's a command...

Re: Nokia CEO Elop lays groundwork for new strategy to be announced next month, a move away from meego?

I just did a job search at Nokia's site and got 56 hits for Symbian while getting 109 hits for MeeGo. We can't assume that they'd tip their hand early by removing job ads, but the ratio is...

Re: Which apps prevent OTA firmware updates?

In the list of updates, click the Maemo update, then select "details" or something similar from the menu that appears, and then one of the tabs will list conflicts.

Re: Yay thanks a lot Nokia... NOT

There's no need to keep insulting the OP, even though we're all tired of complaint threads. The steps he described are overly complicated for installing an update, and the core problem totally isn't...

Re: Home dir is full

What does df -h report?

Edit: note that your use of du is inconclusive. The big partition is mounted at /home/user/MyDocs, so anything you've put directly in /home/user will fill up the 2GB...

Re: Intel Is Doomed

It's worth keeping in mind that Atom is still at 45nm even though Core is at 32nm. In 2011, that'll become 32 and 22. If/when mobile devices become critical for Intel, they'll be able to do much...

I just read the same comments, and this is exactly what I expected. Maybe now we can be a bit more calm about what's going to happen?

Re: Nokia CEO Resigns

New CEO thinks there's a range of experiences to be delivered. Too early to say what combo of platforms for each. Where to emphasize which is a question. Seemed to be talking about internal...

Re: Nokia CEO Resigns

If the board and OPK believe in their current strategy, I doubt they'd choose a successor that would be so opposed to it. I see them wanting to change the execution.

Re: [Council] Influence Nokia by voting in a poll on N900 multitasking

I agree with you, but on the other hand I also believe that to make geeks happy you have to make the mass market happy. We're not entirely different, we're a superset. The most frequent complaints...

Re: hildon will be supported?

If you're starting something new, you're much better off using Qt even if it means learning C++. It's not really that difficult, and Qt simplifies memory management. I recommend starting with this...

Re: What Will Make MeeGo Succeed
