Re: Request for a search widget!

There's the scout application (OK, not a widget, but close enough), which can search in conversations, contacts and calendars...it is available in Extras.

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Hello all,

version 0.2.12 has just been uploaded to extras-devel.

There aren't tons of new features nor bug fixes. This release is more a collection of all patches floating around, plus a few...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

@tomchiverton:

OK, the bug about disabled profiles is confirmed, and I just fixed it.
If you have the time and you are willing to dig out the doc for bringing up a connection from within Python,...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

@tomchiverton:

- the error boxes should not appear anymore with the new version in the works. It will however not bring up an internet connection

- I will try to reproduce the second bug you...

Re: [Announce] OpenConnect (-GUI) VPN client

Possible, but I don't see the point, since:

1) I don't see any Maemo client
2) How does it solve the problem for those logging on corporate/academic network that have to use their VPN...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Good point. I can confirm that this was an issue (and would still have been an issue if you did not point it out).

I'll take that into account during the re-implementation of this feature.
This...

yet another reason to install stuff from the official repositories...

thanks for the heads-up!

By the way, I'm wondering what was the original language of the post (probably English), since the...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Hmmm, that's odd. Do you mean that when you open the N900 calendar app, you don't see any of the calendars you created?

Are they visible in the settings of the Calendar app? Can you see them...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Repeating events are a bit hit or miss, since Fremantle calendar manages them oddly, especially repeating events with exceptions...

If I remember correctly, simple event repetitions should be OK,...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Yes, this issue may be fixed in the upcoming release, which includes some fixes for ISO8601 date formats.

Yes, this can be added. In fact in the original Erminig it was there, but I took it...

Dear all,

believe it or not, I just restarted my scratchbox VM to resume working on Erminig! (those christmas holidays are a good thing after all ;)...away from work and more free time...)

So...

Re: Anyway to put dashes in the phone numbers?

Yeah, the possibility to put a dash (or even a space) would be great, since it hugely improves readability, especially when I'm dialing a number on another phone but looking it up from the N900.

a...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

That's very odd...usually it's the other way around (wifi is fine, but 3G gets Erminig on its knees)

As mentioned before, Erminig is rather sensitive to poor internet connection, bugging out when...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Yes, on slow connections it will take a while before getting the necessary data from Google servers, so erminig may appear to freeze. I should probably add one of those spinners while it waits for...

thanks for all the patches/enhancements you all wrote for Erminig. As Jaffa pointed out, I will resume work on Erminig during the Christmas holidays.

I will integrate all the patches...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

it should, at least for the login part. In fact Erminig relies completely on python-gdata, so it's up to the python-gdata package to set-up proper encryption...

Good point, I should add this...

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Re: [Announce] Erminig-NG: two-way synchronization Google Calendar <-> Fremantle Calendar

Hmmm, that case should be covered in version 0.2.11. I will investigate what's going on. Could you have a look at the log window to see if Erminig complains about that event?

In a pouch, in my left pocket. Without anything else in that pocket: keys are in the other pocket, along with my wallet (when it's not in my messenger bag)

I've also seen that status is not update properly, i.e. if a contact signs-off from Skype, its green...

thanks
