If people can put Android on N9 and HP TouchPad, then many things are still possible... if we have access to the source.

Without the network, you can't use A-GPS, but you can still use GPS but it will take 2 minutes or more to get the first fix. Of course, make sure you have preloaded the map or you won't see anything...

Finally found one CHEAP USB car charger that can charge the N9 (probably same for N900, not going dig it out to try) AND keep the GPS, T-Mobile white usb...

It's not app related, I used the CloudGPS and gpsmeefo to see the raw data, as soon as I plugged in the charging cable, it lost the signal.
