Re: ZaReason ZaTab

You can't say the JooJoo has better specs. It has ddr2 vs the same amount of ddr3 ram of the Zatab. A 4800 mah battery running on x86 vs an 8000 mah battery running on a much more power efficient...

1. Who knows what type of community it will have? You can always get the latest community android image.
2. My n900 doesn't run x86 apps and that somehow didn't ruin the experience. Most any app...

Re: Can you recommend a Linux version for beginner

I think the first thing you should do is determine which desktop environment you will feel most comfortable using. That might be gnome 2, gnome 3, kde 3, kde 4, lxde, xfce, e17, unity to name the...

Re: Chrome/Chromium Native Client on Linux Arm

I personally prefer to use opera on my n900 over chromium. I want chromium for the Native Client abilities (not extensions).
Unfortunately EasyDebian uses the Squeeze version which is 6 if recall...

Re: Chrome/Chromium Native Client on Linux Arm

Yes, previously Chromium version 5 was ported to maemo, but then removed from maemo.org repos due to patent politics. That was before the native client technology was available a well.
I have no...

Chrome/Chromium Native Client on Linux Arm

I've looked around and don't see any posts talking about NaCl on our phones. I'd like to know if anyone has compiled chromium for arm targeted at Maemo/Meego.

If it worked it would give us...

Re: Send recieve files over WIFI like dukto

Hmm, I keep getting a segmentation fault when trying to receive a file using the symbian branch.

I did add a button to send the text message and it works great.

Yeah its from the default read only trunk.
It looks different than yours, I think I like the way your title menu works better.

It's interesting though if you run either of them with sudo you get...

Re: QtRuby N900

Hmm, try switching your Easy Debian sources list to a different mirror.

http://packages.debian.org/lenny/arm/libqt4-ruby1.8/download

This link has different mirrors to choose from.

Re: How can the n900 succesor defeat its rivals??

I think its just as easy to teach someone how to use a mac as it is a win or lin box.

But it is god (your choice of gods) damned hard to convert someone to linux. People don't like change.

Re: How can the n900 succesor defeat its rivals??

I think thats a misconception. It used to be "harder" to use. These days the distros make it fairly easy.
The CLI is intimidating to people. People don't want to type things, they want to click...

Re: How can the n900 succesor defeat its rivals??

How is the n900/maemo/meego not on track?
Linux always has been the underdog in the os.

I don't have the numbers but I bet it would just about pan out that linux has roughly the same share of the...

Re: Who said that Flash 10.1 is not coming?

What about having maemo.org join the Open Screen Project and having some veteran coders implement it.
If maemo.org can't join then I think they should remove the Open in Open Screen Project.

Re: [ANNOUNCE] The First N900 Coding Competition! 21st May-21st July. Open to all!

Re: Nokia + Intel - Does that mean we're going X86?

x86 brings with it the ability to use wine. I don't see how you can downplay the usefulness of being able to access win32 programs.

What i find worrisome is AMD's reluctance to get into the SoC...
