Re: [Announce] CSSU devel, it may eat your brain

Re: Anyone still using N900: What apps do you need/want?

A modern browser that can render all the web pages the N900 can't currently handle would be very useful to me.
As would a Nokia Maps replacement with the following features:
1.Renders vector maps...

Re: My vision for the future of Maemo Fremantle

At this point it would be better for all the targets (including N900) to standardise on a modern version of xorg. N900 would use xserver-xorg-video-fbdev ported to modern xorg along with the reverse...

Re: My vision for the future of Maemo Fremantle

Re: My vision for the future of Maemo Fremantle

Seems like there are 2 things needed, one is an xorg ddx to do the same job as xserver-xorg-video-omapofb on the N900 and then some glue to link x and egl doing the same job as the wsegl dri2 blob on...

Re: My vision for the future of Maemo Fremantle

Seems to me that a backend that allows traditiional Linux graphics stuff (x, egl, whatever else desktops use these days) to run on top of graphics drivers meant for Android is a project a bunch of...

Re: WiFi stack on N900 - my notes

libconnsettings.so.0.0.0 exposes an API that is in turn used by libconninet.so.0.0.0. That is in turn used by libQtBearer.so.1.0.2.

libQtBearer.so.1.0.2 references the following gconf keys:...

Re: WiFi stack on N900 - my notes

Turns out that libicd-network-ipv4.so isn't used by the GPRS plugin after all and can therefore be considered part of the WiFi stack.
It accesses the following gconf keys:...

Re: WiFi stack on N900 - my notes

Ok, it looks like libicd_network_ipv4 is not part of the WiFi stack after all and shouldn't be replaced as part of any replacement of that stack (since its also used by the GPRS stuff).

So the...

Re: WiFi stack on N900 - my notes

libicd_network_eap.so does not listen for any dbus signals, expose any dbus method calls or set any gconf keys. Therefore there is nothing exposed to the outside world by that library that needs to...

Re: My vision for the future of Maemo Fremantle

What I mean is that the specific packages in point 1 (e.g. libc, kernel etc etc etc) will come from Debian/Devuan and we will either point to the built .debs directly (if there are suitable .debs out...

Digging into the WiFi stack and figuring out what it will take to replace it with wpa_supplicant is actually on my to-do list.

Re: [Announce] CSSU devel, it may eat your brain

Do not use libplayback-1-0 package from cssu-devel, it makes media player crash.

Re: [Announce] CSSU devel, it may eat your brain
