Re: Swap menu and back button?

You can with xmodmap. The back button is Escape (keycode 9) and the menu button is F4 (keycode 70).

Just change keycode 9 to send F4 and keycode 70 to send Escape.

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Asking me by PM the wrong way. Asking on this forum is the right way, for two reasons: other people might be interested in the answer, and other people than me might know the answer.

I usually...

Re: Ask the Council!

If a restaurant is open for one hour every week, but they don't say which hour, it is hardly public.

Can you point to another distribution where the main discussion and decision making is on IRC?...

Re: Ask the Council!

IRC is hardly an open discussion. Is there at least a public log of the channel somewhere?

Re: My phone is continuing to get worse

Yes. There is no doubt that blurry contact pictures (and avian flu) are the result of overclocking.

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

If you looked at the patch files, and you are capable of reading, two assumptions which I am willing to make, despite evidence to the contrary, you must have noted that they contain quite a few lines...

Re: [Announce] bleeding-edge wl1251 wifi driver for Maemo Fremantle

Your morals seem to be extremely bent. Are you a lawyer?

The uncompressed kernel source is about 400MB of it lxp's work is at most about 80KB. The idea that this morally entitles him to control...

Re: Bad Battery Reboot

It is a simple bug in BME that was fixed by Nokia, but they don't want to share the fixed BME with us. The bug manifests when the battery gets too old, so its internal resistance becomes too high....

Re: Battery Tests and Phone Battery Mod

I have such battery. It seems to have about the same capacity as the original Nokia battery. I don't know how consistent are those manufacturers, though.

Re: U-boot is now in extras-devel

u-boot works a bit differently. If you want to use the second card, it needs to be explicit:

Re: Is there a way to disable the notification bubble?

You can change libnotify and libhildonnotify (which is what the programs use to display the notifications) to not display certain notifications, depending on contents, sender, etc.

Re: U-boot is now in extras-devel

Yes. But as I said it does not setup something correctly, so it only works after maemo sets it up. If you reset the CPU from within u-boot (or let the watchdog do it for you), then u-boot comes up...

Re: How does one create new network connection intervals

I don't know if it is possible to change the intervals in the GUI, but the actual value (in seconds) is in the gconf key:

/system/osso/connectivity/network_type/search_interval

Re: can you boot to command line

There is no such mode. What you can do is boot to meego by flashing kernel (and u-boot) only. From meego you can mount the rootfs and fix the issues.

Re: How to raise max partitions number seen by Maemo

I am afraid you don't understand.

Device mapper is a kernel subsystem that allows creating virtual block devices and mapping them to real devices.

You can for example create a device called...

Re: How to raise max partitions number seen by Maemo

The mmc kernel driver only supports 7 partitions per device. You need to modify this driver in order to use more partitions. This might have compatibility issues, since the block minor number of your...

Re: Hildon-desktop Keeps crashing.

You are wrong. Reboot does not take that much, regardless of the frequency in use. It is physically impossible for the N900 to use so much power during the short time a reboot takes.

The known fix...

Re: Hildon-desktop Keeps crashing.

It is not hildon-desktop crashing, but hildon-home that runs a desktop widget that does not return to hildon-home, thus preventing hildon-home from doing anything else, such as running other widgets....
