I synched my contacts with my previous phone wich resluted in low res. pictures/avatars.
Copy the original high res. pictures to your N900, and add them to the contacts again. That worked for me....

I would say go for the Satio. If you want to have a phone with other functionalties.
Otherwise go for the N900 Internet Tablet with phone functionality....do keep in mind...

- connecting it to the PC wont give me any acces to the device. (PC keeps chiming cus of a usb device conecting and disconnecting)
- yellow charging led isnt flashing anymore when using the charger,...
